ive just finished reading traitors gate by Geoffrey Archer and have slipped into a time warp.

still, we’ve established you vote “independent”. What are your favourite policies of the independent you voted for last time?

Same.

Let's be honest, unless you are trans, or are close to a trans person, nobody really cares. No party is gaining power (or losing power) over trans issues. Sadly, for those affected, it's just too "niche"

Does it matter? What policies that you voted for with your Labour vote have come to fruition. More importantly, what policies that Labour have implemented did they declare in their manifesto? There is a reason the public (most) are turning against them.  You’ll follow soon.
I see you’ve found a 3G signal.👍

I suspect it will be the biggest fuck up since Brexit. Enjoy the next 4 years of relative normality and gradual improvement, because there is a very good chance it will all get burned to the ground in an instant in 2029.

Yes my thoughts too. I think the country is heading for another moment of madness and voting in Farage. You have to fear for the UK if it happens.

I asked first. But if you think it doesn’t matter then I need not answer you either. I was just curious.

And I’ve had WiFi all week but been out and about. Last couple of nights I’ve been relaxing at the hotel. If that’s ok.

We are 4 years away from an election!  What’s up with you people. We are talking politics and criticising the government. It’s normal you bunch of fannies. 😅😅

They're done. I'm not sure they'll really exist after the next GE. They'll fall behind the LibDems and the Greens

They are fucked, in the last election they were basically saying ‘ignore our record we will be better’

Reform have swallowed up the right wing vote and Labour are pretty central, there is a gap on the left but not for them.

They are left with Kemi looking a million miles out of her depth and Jenrick chasing fare dodgers on the tube.

At the moment neither Labour or Tory have a politician with charisma or personality of Farage.

Common sense would tell you that and it's certainly my view.

Though I've heard that Trump's most effective attack ad went something like "Kamala is for they/them, Trump is fo you"

It's a niche issue for me, but seems to have a lot of traction in the age of the culture war.

I'd be hugely surprised if that was the actual outcome of the next GE.

Do we know what question was being asked?

I genuinely worry for the future of the country if that's in any way an accurate reflection.

I genuinely worry if it isn't.

Yep in my humble opinion both sides of the extreme are nut sacks

I think we all agree on that. What comes into question is the definition of 'full on'. Loons worshipping Hitler and having boozy sessions in swastika adorned garden sheds are definitely that.

Mums and dads worried about illegal immigrants form foreign cultures being thrust into their midst in hotels etc. are not.

I do find it amusing that when mentioning the possibility of a Farage Prime Minister some years ago the ridicule was huge.

Seems like they have at least accepted that there's a possibility now.

Spot on this.

So you’re saying the leader of a party has no influence on how people vote?

Would you like me to demonstrate how even the thickest people can change their minds….?

Nope. I actually think Starmer is the best leader of all the current parties. I think the current Labour Party are very poor though. I didn’t and won’t vote for them unless something significant changes.

Well I would certainly think Boris was influential.

Twitter and Facebook at the time of the last election but one were full of #voteBoris type posts. To suggest he had no influence on voters I’d say is way off.

Who with? Reform don't need them, and they won't join with Labour.

They're, sadly done, well done Johnson & Truss, you managed to kill what was probably the most successful political party that has ever existed.

I says it at the last GE, I'm currently left with nowhere to go, I don't really like Labour, and I can't vote Reform. I suspect there are many like me.

There is a possibility of course, but does he want it? Who knows, he'd have to do some work. He's trying his best not to do any work as an MP, so he may not really want the top gig.

It maybe like the whole Brexit thing, he didn't want to (like Johnson) actually "win" that vote, he would much rather have been a close second, so that he could keep doing what he was doing, without actually having to do any real work.

Maybe he enjoys, as you often put it, being a "Great Disruptor" and like him or not, he's very much that.

Just now, tomski said:

Just give up on them. I didn’t vote for years as I disliked both. Let’s be honest the singular vote isn’t worth shit. I only really voted last the way I have the last few times as I disliked both the other party far more.

I still find it odd people ‘support’ parties and have allegiances. Should simply be who you think is best for you and yours for the next 5 years.

I've voted several different ways in the past, but I am naturally a centre right person. If somebody fills the void the Conservative Party have then I'd vote for them. As it is, like you, I'll probably just not bother. Or do a dirty protest.
