That’s not public transport. Now Randwick to Circular Quay is another matter. 😉 From the report posted, it would be of interest to Gonzo rather than me. Never been to Knott End. 😊

Nice that they’re doing the basics though.

boring. But nice.

Knott end just means peter thompson to me

The Bee Network is great. Well done Andy Burnham. Still only £2 a trip unlike the rest of Starmer’s Britain.😉

Or indeed, Rishi/liz/Boris’s Britain.

Now don't take the piss. I had my honeymoon there. Seriously!

Makes Morecambe seem like Studio 54 in its nightclub heyday!

and its only £2 if you use 2/3 buses in a hour

Now this is good news.

Chancellor to announce £15bn for transport projects https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c331ln47e7ko

I like this bit though. See criticism does have an impact.😉

‘Reeves has been under pressure from Labour MPs to spend money following criticism of relentless economic gloom, particularly around disability and benefit cuts, as the chancellor tries to stick to her fiscal rules in difficult circumstances.’

It was in the manifesto.

Which they seem to treating as a document to follow rather than a series of soundbites like Boris did.

Don’t let Bolty know you’re changing your mind, he hates that.

Don’t get carried away😊  They seem to have suddenly found some money at the back of the sofa. Better find some more for the police. 👍

Did anyone see that programme on Monday, is Britain Broke?

It was really interesting how as a population we expect so much of the NHS, pensions, defence, etc but folk are reluctant to pay more tax to cover it all.

There’s not much money. Anyone reasonable knows that.

To be honest, train fares are a massive bugbear of mine and I’d rather they did something about that, but it seems unlikely.

I may have jumped the gun. Seems this investment was announced in 2023 when HS2 was cancelled. No wonder I thought it was a good idea.😊

This genuinely annoys me, from Newsnight with the victims of grooming gangs. The Policewoman who was on confirmed the following

1 data is from 2024

2 only 33% of forces recorded ethnicity against crimes then. ( I am not sure if that is specific to grooming gangs)

3 Most cases are NOT committed by Packistani men (note no longer saying Muslim)

4 Packistani men are over represented in the figures.

So 3 and 4 are not mutually exclusive they only make up I think 3% of population so unlikely to be committing 50% of the crime. She is now getting hammered on Twitter by Kemi and other Tory MPs for hiding the truth. It is pathetic. How do we ever solve problems if politicans twist every word ?

So the numbers say that the bulk of crimes are not committed by Pakistani fellas but they make up more of the statistics than you would expect given the population size of Pakistani males in the UK.

Seems a fair assessment to me. And highlight the authorities are finally acknowledging the issue whilst not throwing all the resources at one group of nonces.

I've been droning on about that for years....

Scandinavian taxes are sky high but every thing works and people are happy. My mate lives by a lake near Hasselholm in Sweden and fucking loves it there. Was well chuffed with Liz Truss tanking the UK economy meant he could pay off a chunk on his mortgage on his place in Glasgow for much less than it would normally be.

Is it not free for pensioners?

Aye and things wouldn't be half as bad if we didn't have the global crash in 2008, COVID, Brexit and Putin fucking up gas prices. That lot basically doubled our national debt so now we have 10's of billions less money every year to pay for the services we expect.

There are so many serious issues to be debated in pmq’s at the moment (energy, trade wars, trade deals, water pollution, the economy, immigration, war in Ukraine). What did the reform MP ask during pmq’s today? “Are we going to ban the burka” ! Seriously, what a bunch of loons!!

Hes right. The country is a pisstake.

Off peak Buses are free, need to pay an annual surcharge of a tenner for off peak trams and trains. Before half nine pensioners (unless also holding a  disabled pass) need to pay full whack.

A pint in Slam Dunk festival grounds was £7.75 in the pub near my hotel in Holborn today it's £8.50. when a pub is more than a festival it's really taking the piss.

Don't even blink anymore unless I get something under 6 quid and then I reckon there's something wrong with it. Even our village local is just over seven quid.

It's so wrong though :(

Why do we all just accept it?

Surely there's its going to reach the point where the whole thing collapses.

Where does it stop? £10 a pint averages?

Not just a pint either. It's everything.

The standard of living doesn't match it.
