It will certainly be interesting. I am sure that Farage will be concentrating on building infrastructure whilst making the odd cutting comment on affairs of the day here and there.

I wouldn't be writing off a merger with the Cons though. Been an election winning machine for over a century. You can't buy experience like that.

Johnson exemplified that.

Sunak went the other way though.

Turned them into mush. Politicial gruel.

Will take some coming back, and I'm not sure that history is going to help much, apart from those that are wedded to the brand.

Those that are wedded to the philosophy are having to look elsewhere.

I do think there will be agreements made, if polls nearer the time suggest that they may split the vote and both fail.

As things stand, making agreements would harm Reform, considering their recent successes.

Yep. Come the next GE, it'll still be between Tories & Labour.  Reform, if they still exist by then, will have won a few protest votes along the way but will be a distant 4th in England.

I really don't think it will.

Said it before but dispelling reform as a protest vote with a thick and racist following will do more damage to this county than good.

They are bang in the mixer, the recent council elections state this.

Conservatives are done.

The fact Starmer seems to have all his focus, in opposition terms, on farage and reform says it all.

They've stired a few issues already which has made Labour kick back and react. That's exactly what a strong opposition is for.

The end game and what people want is the end game after all.

Folk took Brexit for granted, just an immigration thing and will never happen folk said. That complacency fucked it. That can't happen again or Reform will be in.

Agreed. Most can now see that Brexit had been terrible, and it may take decades to recover from it. I dread to think the long term damage that a Reform led government could/would do (unless they do actually come up with something more than just their ridiculous uncosted soundbites policies)

They did very well in the local council elections.

All they need to do is perform well at that level and they should be a shoe in for 2029 at parliamentary level.

All they need to do, is perform well.

perform

well.

Like them or not, they don't have any experience, the recent good performances in the local council elections, could end up being to their detriment

I know that Durham have replaced the pride flag with an extra Union Jack.

My guess is that any of the dull admin involved with allocating budgets for clearing pavements of dogshit and approving planning applications for fencing will soon bore the average reform councillor who prefers to tweet about dinghies

That's brilliant.

Still too many dinghies making it across.

That said, plenty are being stopped, so it could be double the number it is. Short of sinking them and killing them all, it’s a nightmare to deal with.

In other news, defence spending is going up. Always good for jobs.

No matter what anybody says or does, they'll never be stopped, it's basically impossible, unless as you say, we start blowing them out of the water, and even then they'd still probably come. That's the sad fact of it

as all the boat people are of military age, can we do them a deal where they join the army for 5 years, then they can stay?

2 birds, 1 stone

Reform have cancelled all council meetings in Nottinghamshire for the month of June.

Interesting way to run things innit?

Would you be prepared to pay more tax for a capable, well kitted out and large enough military.

I think I would. I don't see as we've got much choice.....

They were lowering overseas aid to cover it i think?

That'll make the gammons happy as well.

More Super Army Soldiers, less free money for Indian goat herders.

tbf, farage has form for not turning up to work

10,000 cheap drones and a few container 🚛. Cheap as chips. Still be able to afford to keep the pensioners warm. 😊

Rubbish man. The Aussies stopped it simply. Gun boat with all of the menace that implies turning boats around and escorting them back to the shore they left from.

Get out of the fucking ECHR and get on with it.
