Doesn't that make you proud of our NHS? Would you rather they'd booted her out onto the street?

No, i was shocked !!!!

The young female UK nurses were upset , for both me , my wife , and the non English speaking pregnant Asian woman.

On hearsay ,before that moment i would not have believed that thousands of women arrive here to deliver babies under NHS care.

I have since been educated into the fact that i am totally deluded and none off this actually happened in front of me .

My 30 plus year old son is probably also a figment of my imagination!!!

just wish the twat would stop buying me a season ticket to watch this SHITE we call a football team

You thinking about popping down to the local park or something?

Ahh, come on now. No need for that.

You really should apologise.

If only the world was like that. They are stoking the division that exists. In Ballymenu they were Posting addresses of immigrants so that people could attack them as well as posting lots of lies to antagonise the situation. Very similar to what happened here after Southport.

Just to reassure you. In all of my years of nursing and in the NHS, I have never once witnessed this, or heard reports of it happening.

I'm an NHS manager now and if this were a consistent problem at RBH then I would have heard aboutbit. It's just not on our radar as being a significant issue.

That's not to say it didn't happen on your particular visit of course. But if it did, then you witnessed something that is extremely rare.

You can also set your mind at rest on any costs. The NHS now has a charging system for foreign nationals. Maternity services start at £7,500 and overseas visitors are charged at 150% of the cost.

I am though, curious why were these nurses (presumably midwives)? upset for you? Strange things happen all the time in healthcare - them flapping about because someone doesn't speak English makes me think they weren't up to the job.

Racism and ultra nationalism has existed long before we had the issues with immigration we have today.

I’ll agree with you all day long mate that the left needs to get its head out the sand when it comes to concerns over immigration. Or else Reform will get in.

But what you see in Northern Ireland currently ( & last year in Southport ) is utterly vile. The fact you’ve got MPs sharing the location of asylum seekers & migrants on social media is a huge concern. Farage was one of the first to share misinformation last year, albeit not in the same manner this DUP fella did.

These are innocent families being hunted down & attacked. Fire fighters & other people at work having their lives unnecessarily put at risk.

These people need hefty sentences, not excuses or deflections about immigration.

Save that discussion for law abiding citizens.

Indeed. It's the same as last year.

But this kind of outpouring of rage and the mindless violence that ensues will always happen if those fundamental issues aren't addressed.

Don't feed the beast.

Hasn’t that been the case for a while but many foreign nationals simply didn’t pay?

Just looked it up as I'm interested. Health tourism costs the NHS about £100 million per year which is about 0.053% of the budget we spend. That's all health tourism - not just maternity services.

However - this figure also includes people who legitimately fall ill or have an accident while they're in the UK. Deliberate health tourism where someone travels to the UK, solely for the purpose of receiving care is estimated at about £60 million. Of which only about 16% is recouped through charges. So £50.4 million. So once you've accounted for deliberate attempts only and taken away what's recouped it's about 0.026% of the entire NHS budget.

Whilst it's still a lot of money 0.026% is far smaller than 'losses' in other countries where there is free universal healthcare.

Impacts on maternity services are smaller. Somewhere between £5.6 and £11.2 million pounds per year (or 0.003-0.006 of the entire NHS budget). And most of that is from West African women travelling to specific London hospitals. So more of a local issue.

Loads of sources here but the majority are NHS England.

Northern Ireland was blatant racism. People who had nothing to do with the assault who had been living there ten years or more working in the NHS and integrated into the community. What was their crime exactly?

That’s £50.4 million we could be spending on new union jacks to fly over all our town halls.

Shill.

Thickos need a target for their manufactured outrage even if that target is perfectly innocent, so we should pander to them apparently.

Pander to the rioters?

No way.

But shit like this always latches on to a divided population with diversity issues.

Always.

It was a torch paper, a misguided one at that, but all the same it's on the back of massive issues over there.

It's not just about the one case is it.

You're brighter than that.

But that's basically what you're saying. We should listen to these thickos because they've got mad about something and attacked innocent people based on blatant lies. You're justifying their actions by saying they're just misguided, whilst agreeing with the cunts who misguided them.
