It’s not their fault that they’re not paying X amount of tax. If there’s loopholes and it’s totally legal to use them they will do. Doesn’t matter if you’re earning 50k a year or 50 million. It’s up to governments to prevent this. They dont.

Aye it's not their fault.

We need stronger policies and stronger environmental protections.

Currently Labour or Reform won't close any of these loopholes or create a proper wealth tax. Reform will go in the opposite direction and relax things further.

Which is why we won't see much of an improvement to our economy any time soon. And why we'll struggle to reduce inequality and create a better country.

I don't think it's long before these policies become more mainstream though. The evidence is pretty clear that it isn't trickling down.

Absolutely. You've got me. I was arguing that the dictionary definition of a word is wrong. You've got me bang to rights. I apologise. You are correct. I am very ashamed.

They are self made to an extent but with a good chunk of help from the life their parents could provide.my issue with Self Made labels is they often come with an idea that the only thing stopping others from doing it is gumption and work ethic.

Nah, there's folk in all walks of life with gumption, work who obtain relative wealth and success

I think it's more about vision and turning that into reality then taking it to the next level

They certainly weren't handed their success on a plate which is what a lot of folk like to think

Because they did whatever they could to make as much money as possible regardless of any moral implications, and you applaud that, don't you? How do you think Musk's father made his money?

I've never given it any thought

Was it via slavery?

the only thing I respect (am envious about) Elon Musk for is that he's had a go on Grimes as I reckon it'd involve some proper next level freaky shit on her part

Not been on muchScreenshot_20250919_172347_Gallery.thumb.jpg.7d336e64b690d7ad897cd64456ef9b2b.jpg for a few days.....have Labour lost the Beth Rigby love in 🤔

Meanwhile our Nige gets on with a bit of grifting.

Nothing to see here from our potential future PM.

All normal these days.

Conflicts of interest? Pah. A thing of the past.

Lost the Unions, lost the public, lost the plot, lost our Beth.....

I don't like Rigby, but fair play, she put the knife in

Who are paying her ? 🤔

Tomorrow I'm going to Pembroke Christmas Market/Fair.

Lots of nice food, drinks and gifts will be on sale within the castle walls.

Problem is most will be claimed to be HOMEMADE.

@Cheese should I dispute this?

Maybe ask the cake sellers if the flour they're using was cleaned, grinded down and and sifted by themselves.

Do those selling meat items do all the butchering 🤷🏻‍♂️

Maybe ask the beers sellers if they produced their own glass bottles. Did they use a highly automated melting and molding process using raw materials like silica sand, soda ash, and limestone in their garage.

It cant be homemade can it mate?

No, you shouldn't dispute it, otherwise you will come across as extremely fucking thick. Which, unfortunately, you do appear to be.

It’s simple this

Being British means you exist within a system that allows you to earn a limitless amount of money.

I don’t begrudge anyone earning a fortune, in fact I would say it’s great.

But to then get all upset when that same system takes its share for allowing you to do it in the first place means you are a massive sweaty fucking cunt.

By all means fuck off abroad, but don’t expect any sympathy because the system you used has mechanisms that allow it to take a fair repayment.

But part of the problem are people making their fortunes outside our boundaries but still trading here thereby evading taxation that contributes to maintaining our society... Amazon, Musk, Costa and so on.
