Too much of a coincidence for me. £30k to give a talk (fine - no problem if someone is daft enough to pay that), but then to appear to lobby on behalf of the interests of that group? As a minimum the optics are wrong, at worse, well….

Got to be better than that or else we continue towards US politics where most of the politicians are as bent as a ten bob note, funded by lobbyists.

I think too many have forgotten it’s public service not self service.

What is crazy is yon mon got 10 years for taking Russian bribes amounting to 10s of thousands but virtually every MP is taking similar amounts from donors.

If he had just gone on Russian TV for a fee would that have bribery ? NF gets best part of £1m a year salary from the owners of GB News but he ain’t the only one, 236 out of 650 MPs do outside work for money. How many of them do favours or have their views influenced by the folk chucking money at them ?

Who owns GB News and wants such influence ?

Reported in the Guardian yesterday... worried about Spanish tomatoes

Well we are in Spain at the moment and they are serving chopped tomatoes to have on your toast for breakfast. But no sausage or beans ! The world is crazy.

You could argue that is more traditional approach so should respect that, but the bottles of HP sauce prove that story a bit unlikely.

The world is changing... I walk down from the Moors in North Yorkshire to Robin Hoods Bay on the coast and pass a thriving vineyard!

As you say, crazy

Isn’t the cap removal good in the fight to stop Britain becoming muslamic and help prevent the predicted population crisis.

You used to hear the odd person moan about funding of things like Schools when they don’t have kids etc. Nowadays it certainly seems the majority. You have to be fairly miserable to be upset by stuff like this. Also if it’s so good then why don’t we all jack our jobs in😂

Chris Green has joined reform. He must be missing the trough.

Can someone explain what Reeves has done wrong ?

She "lied about the state of the economy" in order to justify a VAT rise that she didn't actually impose. I think.

Tried to be Chancellor, she thought she could be head honcho she didn't realise that the boss has to look at the information, analyse and make a plan... see it, say it, sort it.

Her spreadsheets weren't working out owing to the fact we're all not working hard enough, and she panicked and called a very, very unusual press conference telling everyone to prepare for a taxation rogering.

What she didnt figure out is the financial report already on her desk telling her tax receipts were better than expected meant the increase in direct taxes would be unnecessary and as result she is now looking bit of a fool.

Basic stuff, but she couldn't see the wood for the trees... not enough to resign, but it is another sign that she is in over her head. Head of OBR went today, which should help her in deflecting attention.
