Very quiet, I thought Bolty et al was predicting tax Armageddon?

 So are you saying that you consider this a good budget?

More wealth creators driven away. Pure fucking genius.

She's only delayed the inevitable. Hopefully the house of cards collapses before she has a chance to have another go.

Bit of an odd one this.

I asked before; how would they do it?

Presumably at the mot, but that means nothing for 3 years.

Hardly going to encourage new purchases though, which will infuriate suppliers, given they have government targets to hit.

"Fines" issued for not selling a given percentage of evs amongst total sales.

Bollocksed either way.

Should give the second hand EV market a boost as there will be some very low mileage cars about.

Also affecting younger (not yet middle aged 😊) folk who are trying to squirrel away for retirement.

I sound/feel a bit like a broken record, but I really did hope governments would be trying to plan for the future by encouraging private pension contributions in order to reduce reliance on state pensions in 40 years’ time. With an aging population it’s a ticking time bomb.

I guess they just look at it as a future government’s problem, not theirs.

A common problem with our political system… we just don’t make enough changes that will benefit us in the long run. Because we’re too focused on short term politics & voters are impatient.

Anyways

We’ll just get a load more migrants in. It’ll be reet.

speaking about different times and all that

A journalist has watched Only Fools and Horses for the very first time — and his reaction is definitely going to surprise a lot of fans of the sitcom.

Joe Crutchley from MyLondon says he couldn’t believe the amount of language he found offensive and ended up switching the show off. He admits the sitcom is often called “the greatest British sitcom of all time,” but after one episode he says it’s the “worst show ever” in his opinion.

He says that “within moments, the characters are spouting off offensive sexist and racist comments,” pointing to scenes where Grandad mispronounces a Black character’s name and where Rodney and Del use lines he calls outdated. Joe also quotes Del Boy describing a barmaid as an “old dog,” and Rodney calling someone “some Chinese tart,” with Del adding, “Chinese, Japanese, it’s all the same to me.”

He argues that while it was a different time, “the humour doesn’t have to come at the expense of a minority group.”

The scene that pushed him over the edge was from Series 6, where Del Boy worries about catching a disease from his gay hairdresser. Joe calls it “one of the most distasteful scenes I’ve ever watched.”

Whether you agree or not, it’s certainly an interesting subject to discuss.

What do you think Del Boy would say about all this?

Male hairdressers are riddled with all sorts.

Must make a note not to go for a night out with Joe Crutchley

Crutchley is either attention seeking or virtue signalling.

Probably the former going off his photograph. Barnet looks like he could be a ufologist.

This is an interesting 90 second vid.

Interesting? Looking at the 'star' of it, irritating probably a better word.

I'd rather have 90 seconds extra in the dentists chair.

At the very least it distracted you from jumping on the Trump thread to defend him again, so I'm glad you got something from it too 😉

aye, it's fair enough like

can't berudge anyone who makes a lot of legitimate money

so long as they get taxed fairly and inline with everyone else, then fine by me

But they never do, and bootlickers like RW applaud their corruption.

And pay their workers a decent livable wage and their suppliers a fair rate.

I know, corruption might not always be the right word, but that's generally always the issue

no one really needs a billion pounds, for the most part they won't spend it, it'll just be a perception of wealth via numbers on a screen or written down

I doubt they would even notice if they were taxed properly in terms of their day to day life and quality of it

Anyone worth several million that says they are being “driven away” are fucking traitors and should be hung from the tower.

this country has allowed them to flourish and succeed. This amazing, free country has rewarded their hard work with limitless opportunity to make piles of money and in return that country only asks for some of it back.

cunts

At the first sign of their massive fortune taking a fraction of a hit they want to go and live in <checks> Dubai. It’s never anywhere else I notice, always going living with other rich ponces in the desert.

Meanwhile, bootlicking skivvies who drive vans or fix washers support this and blame everyone else.

Traitors. Nothing less.

Mostly it's just the Linkedin and Twitter influencers dribbling nonsense to the SEETHING masses of bots
