Mine did naturally scuba diving. 35 meter dive came up and both ears had huge wax pellets popped out.

Sore as fuck for a couple days but could hear a pin drop at 50 yards. Life changing!

Had them done for the first time after going stone deaf in a pub in Blackpool, went to the medical centre at work and they sorted it, looked like half a crayon coming out my lugs. To hear every tiny sound again was amazing.

Me, about 5 years ago. Just had em done again before xmas but in Bolton.

Whereabouts did you go. Doctors telling me they don’t do it now and I’ve got to wait 6 weeks to where they send you instead. I’ve tried syringing myself as it’s worked before, but not happening

Have you tried olive oil

Yes it makes it worse

I’ve googled some places in Bolton and seems like a decent place in daubhill. Got a feeling it’s not ear wax though. Seems like they’ll give me a quicker answer than the docs. And like gonzo said, there is also walk in centres. They won’t syringe your ears though

Fresh Hearing Dauhbill. Went to nurse at docs first, said my ears where full, she said use sodium bicarbonate drops for a week. Tried drops then rang fresh hearing and was done same day. Don't have them syringed, have microsuction, no water involved.

Nice one.,will give em a try

Can't believe they are treating this as such a trivial matter Alf.

The probable reason your ears are ringing is fluid or wax building up and putting pressure on your eardrum. This could lead to perforation.

You should drive to Thornton medical centre and pretend your me and get them done.

Say hello to Sue in the sexual health bit for me whilst your there.

I've had all sorts of tests and treatments for ear problems. Gunk in eustachian tubes not draining or something. Clears up in summer, but then get a cold and everything seems to block up for winter. A good shower eases everything and I can spend 5 or 10 minutes blowing shit out. Ears crackle a bit like when you've been swimming.

Tried all sorts but just live with it.

Phoned that bolton place but on holiday til 17th Jan. Gave me a number for a place in Chorley and got appt for tomorrow

Does that mean we’ll not be able to make nasty jokes about you in the pub anymore?

There is the divisive talk of maligners taking up A&E staff time. There was a couple of people in there who obviously had mental health issues, and were well known to staff but if you cut funding in mental health provision where else do these people go? It seems the wrong departments are mopping up a wider problem - and not just mental health but also social care. Frontline care is not the place for these people obviously. But investing in a longer term solution for the overall greater good is a difficult sell to the electorate.

Agree there. Unusually :)

From experiences I had in a&e it was clear that mental health provision was insufficient. I would add though, that once into the system, it was generally excellent.

Like everything, more money always needed, but not sure where it will come from.

If corbyn was to get in, I'm not sure how the government could afford such a big expansion, given they'd be laying a lot for all the renationalisation.

Under the Tories, maybe some small easing of the purse strings but can't see it being much.

Funding cuts?

Good news that.

Every day the news on the radio or TV will have an article about some group or other saying their field is underfunded.

There will never be enough money.

Can only comment on my experiences over the last three or four years; at one point I was seen briefly at a&e (after being brought in by ambulance). As I hadn't self harmed or hurt anyone else, I wasn't deemed poorly enough to be admitted and told there was nothing they could do at that time.

I'd undergone a breakdown of sorts, and was barely able to walk let alone think straight.

I remember walking around like a zombie whilst doctors and nurses ignored me.

Not having a dig at them as they were busy, but it highlighted the need for a better service in that area.

In the end she (chief garden designer :) ) found me at the entrance to the hospital. Luckily.

Gps have been brilliant and mental health service has been great since.

Great to hear you are in a better place now mate

Doing well.

Recently got discharged from psychological therapy (CBT). Had a really challenging lady, who helps to identify your own issues and ways of self help.

Underlying issues can surface and fuck up anyone, especially if the right triggers arrive.

Strangely, I can feel the onset of anxiety as autumn approaches; however I'm learning to manage it.

During the summer months it pretty much disappears.

S.A.D. is a made up illness that really does exist! :)

Winter really is a shit time for mental health.

Crap weather coupled with the pressures around Christmas, both financially and social, does a right number on most folks who suffer.

Glad to hear that you are doing well.

I agree 100% if financially if you can afford a winter break to the sun replenish Vitamin D levels that helps, also get on the multivitamins and if possible a good tonic I use Metatone.
