To those who cannot be arsed going through Madhatters increasingly lengthy posts he thinks we should listen to what the Nazis have to say and then make our minds up.

I read them. He is entitled to his views like we all are and I would argue strongly that he has  denounced those headcase Nazi's just as most of us have.

You of the left speak of 'tolerance' but is seems that anyone who doesn't completely agree with your world view is to be labelled 'wired up wrong'.

As the UK sorted out the extreme right nutjob problem some time ago, when some of you start to get stuck into the nasty fuckers from the other side I will be relieved. The alliance of Anarchists and Communists is a far more sinister development as far as the UK is concerned as, like the Greens, they are attempting to fly under the radar by labelling themselves differently to what they actually are.

Don't leave it until it is too late before you realise this. It is gathering Momentum.

What??? Please find the earlier posts on Ziconvolution.

You know the answer to the question don't you? I'll vote for gay marriage when Bolton Wanderers complete a treble of Champions League Cup Final victories and England have amassed three World Cup wins.

Half a bigot is better than a full blown one I suppose.

Tbh I think these people all need a bit of a life..

Get a boy, girl, other.. go home do something fun, have babies, get married, get a fooking job or two and a hobby(I can't go and protest, I don't have enough time). Then realise that there is more to life than protesting over a statue. History is written by the winners.. The confederates lost, so it's surprising they are up in the first place.

Bollocks. I am the least religious person you would ever meet but I firmly believe that marriage is between a man and a woman and creates not only the building blocks for our society but for our entire civilisation.

As I have said before, the sodomites and rug munchers can do whatever the fuck they like to each other in private but why do they need to have any recognition of their unnatural union? Not against them having this BTW - just call it something different. I would propose the word Aletigobu. LTGB with the five vowels interspersed in alphabetical order.

Once they have this recognition called other than marriage, stop their lewd parades.

Very true and well said Swanny. They need to get a life.

Quite ironic they want statues ripping down when a lot of their followers are obsessed by a certain prophet who was more than ok with parts of slavery, a daft cult still followed to this very day whose followers commit terrorist attacks and many murders in his name.

Let's not mix up the fact that the protests in the South of the US are being driven by right wing christians. Protesting against a vote. It has nothing to do with ISIS and muslims.

I think the KKK could be described as the daft cult in that area of the world.

The confederate stuff is to "celebrate the lost cause" and remember the southern way of life before the war

Some claim that doesn't include slavery, others will say it does but that slavery wasn't a bad thing, and some sat they represent white supremacy

The point of the latter is most were put up in the 1900s or 1960s when racial tensions were high And civil rights movements on the up, as a reminder

Not everyone who thought for the south was a cunt but the confederacy stood for slavery and in turn white supremacy

Antifa in general was my point. The ones shipped in were from all over America.

So Antifa support the prophet you allude to

? I assume you mean Mo ?

Is there another point of view regarding the preservation of American history. Even if it's a 'lest we forget' experience?

Should the losing Yorkists be obliterated from English history?

Owd on - yes, obliterating Yorkists is a good idea  ;)

BTW Ziconvolution? How many thought for the Confederacy? Are they still thinking?

I agree about obliterating history. But there is no statue of Peter Sutcliffe in Bradford.

Statues are people you are celebrating and proud of. The bad guys get remembered in the books.

General lee was on the wrong side in terms of history not sure if that is fair but is a fact.

Oddly we agree here.

Keep the statues but perhaps relocate them to museums etc.

On our visit to Atlanta my history nut friend had us looking at all sorts about the civil war and the follow through up to MLK and beyond.

It was really interesting and something I probably wouldn't have done on my own.

These things need to be preserved if only in a 'never again' sense.

Yes Ani, Mo certainly gets remembered in a book.

This is becoming worrying but yes, you are right.

Franks suggestion of relocating them to a museum is a cracker. If some weirdo's feel the need to go and pay homage then they can. If others are so horrified then they need never set foot in the place.

For those of us less extreme, an interesting historical artefact would be preserved and, as Frank said, could be framed in a 'never again' setting.

This sudden breakout of agreement seems strange.

yeah, many are still thinking the confederates were right, sadly

as for preservation, as been said already believe some of these statues are being sent to museums and the like

as for lest we forget, ironically General Lee himself said this about it all:

“I think it wiser …not to keep open the sores of war but to follow the examples of those nations who endeavored to obliterate the marks of civil strife, to commit to oblivion the feelings engendered."

and good to see you're down you're down to just picking up on typos and spelling errors
