Last night I weighed 20 stone 10lbs. This morning I'm 19 stone 11lbs..

Reckon my scales are broke.

You had a day's worth of food and drink in you last night.

This morning you'd have had nothing.

anyone had a go on a manual tread mill yet?

my new gym has them, fucking weird

take a lot of getting used to

you can control resistance with a lever, but you just start running and it starts turning, so you control the speed

add to that, they are curved

I'm not keen

Taking a lot of getting used to but don't feel like I can really go for it, just sort of end up doing a brisk waddle

Ideal for intervals

Wouldn't do a long session on one

Wtaf you used to be skinny!

Had my thyroid removed and struggled since that. In fairness it's not all fat and I've got legs like tree trunks.

Mate had similar issues with their thyroid. Definitely seems to be a correlation.

Also more evidence now of our mental & physical health being linked to gut microbiome.

Anyway - my new 10 minute walk down the coast to the gym means I’m getting there more often.

Looks ace. I'd spend more time walking aimlessly around there than going to the gym :D

Just as good for you as the gym is.

Running and walking is for outside for me. Though Zico’s treadmill he was talking about are good.

Amazing some of the studies they’ve done on mice & their ability to lose weight and tackle depression through changing their micro biome. Proves that some people basically struggle a lot more than others to lose weight if their gut bacteria isn’t in good order.

Just try to not get distracted by the Swedish lady & listen to what she’s saying.

I fully expect it to heavily influence our health system in the next decade. If society doesn’t crumble before then.

If you can’t be arsed watching any of it - just eat more whole grains, fruit, veg & probiotic foods every day.

Doctors are raking the stance of "you're getting by, deal with it".

Blood sugar level has gone up with a clear line over last 8 years, I'm now on diabetic levels and they've told me (wish I was kidding) that I should have the following as a daily food intake.

Breakfast 40g of porridge pref with water not milk

Dinner, soup no bread,

Tea, carrot sticks, celery or cucumber style sticks.

Also told me I should join a gym as I'm not active enough, when I told them fitness isn't an issue and it's previously caused a spike in my weight, they replied "muscle weighs more".

Watching these olympic hammer throwers ATM and I'm a similar build to these with a teeny bit if muffin top

Yep. A nice long walk at a decent steady pace burns more body fat than a big fat sweaty horrible 20 minute run on a treadmill.

On that treadmill your heart rate is that high you can't talk or breath and all you're doing is burning stored glycogen.

Quite a bit of info on this now.

Essentially it goes back to a balanced, traditional diet, with less processing.

Had some wheat/spelt/rye type bread yesterday. Knocks spots off white for flavour too.

Crikey that’s a very restrictive diet recommendation. Did it come from a dietician or the doctor?
