The EFL rules are for exiting administration, nothing to do with liquidation.

You are essentially correct though, to satisfy HMRC bill within those 7days they’d have to satisfy all the outstanding creditors so as not to be showing preference, this therefore means that ED would’ve had to write off all the debt as he subsequently did.

Yes it opened it up to asset strippers, but the reality is that there wasn’t really much to turn in to cash in the typical sense of asset stripping. There were assets that could be loaned against, and that’s what funded the club, in the main.

ED initially wanted a buyer to show £15m in funds but settled for Deano’s £5M even though that was essentially raised against the club.

Thank you.

Although I might have gone down the wrong path I did get to the point I intended to, namely to make clear that for the club to be somehow saved at the last minute by Eddie or others that it would simply have meant that Administration (if that was still an option) or Liquidation, would effectively mean the new owners of the club taking on a business in debt, trading in debt (total players wages exceeding total revenue received by the club) and only able to remain solvent by borrowing against assets / sale of players / increasing (or establishing) other revenue streams, deferring or challenging contracts and payments, seeking external investment - the concerts for instance, etc, or by subsidising the club by spending their own wealth.

Eddie wanted out otherwise he wouldn't have let it get as far as the final winders court.

Davies settled for Holdsworth to take on the club presumably knowing he had to take out an immediate £5m loan against club assets - which Anderson had since claimed he knew nothing about and of which only £4m ever reached the clubs books.

If Davies/Birch thought this was the best offer on the table then it doesn't suggest any others (including the ST's) had any legs at all.

Is this a reasonable view to take?

Sorry that's a fail as it is actually a fact. 😊

Thought we'd established only £4m was ever advanced (per Blumarble accounts). Security was for £5m, presumably because Deano didn't have a pot to piss in and Blumarble's rates were made up by Monty Python.

the etiquette for new newbies (after me, I don't count) is you have to either

You're very welcome, and you're welcome.

It also means contribute absolutely nothing in any other thread on the forum apart from this total car crash.

Gonna be a busy one next time there's a wways Blackpool meet...

It speeds you up the pecking order if you've got a masters degree in Business Analytics & post some absolute ridiculous load of old bollocks.

Well PG covered some airmiles checking out enquirers who failed for reasons other than being foreign. It may be that there was an extra concern about an owner using it as a plaything. While some have worked out others have failed. Hull City is a good example, plus its inadvertent impact on North Ferriby United.

Fuck fuck fuck fuck

hard to disagree.

Or agree, come to think of it.

Any chance of a translation?

I have this feeling Howard turned from pupa to butterfly with this takeover business...it must have been like manna from heaven when it all kicked off. But is he a 1 trick pony ?...is he an all round clever cnut or just clever as fuck when teams are in trouble ?..either way talk about right man in the right place at the right time. Not a fucking clue what he's on about but even I'm hanging on his every word.

Pissed of with it all I am fed up of reading Howard's bullshit but not just him all of these self important people who don't really have a clue, I only care about the club my dad first took me in 1967 that is all I care about, if you don't really know anything but u need to feel important and let the world know how clever you are please don't bother, let's all just wait and see what happens

We're all a bit frustrated I reckon. All we can do is try to pick out the relevant bits from a puddle of shit, and hope something good comes of it.

Howard, with all due respect, pack up and f**k off.

Thanks for your input, but I think you're going to contribute to this place dying the way this is going.

I'm not sure we ever have?

As far as I recall things the agreement given to the court/EFL was that the purchase from Davies would include £7.5m being made available, £5m from Holdsworth and a further £2.5m from Anderson 'when required'.

I'm unable to track that breakdown specifically but the BBC confirms the £7.5m

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/35630605

...and this from an Iles article mentions about Anderson's £2.5m contribution as part of it.

https://www.theboltonnews.co.uk/sport/14511496.wanderers-in-25m-funding-hole-but-players-will-be-paid-insists-co-owner-ken-anderson/?ref=arc

So IF DH did say he would put £5m into the club where is it?  Ok I can understand if he borrowed £4m and had to secure it for £5m to cover the pay day loan interest - but where is the other £1m he said he would put in?

Also I understand the BluMarble renegotiated the amount with Anderson as shown in the last accounts to reflect a loan to the club of £4 million plus interest accruing on it whilst earlier it seems they were initially seeking the whole £5 million loan from SSBWFC?

All quite academic now and water under the bridge for all concerned but I do think something happened right from the outset over the lack of a full £5 million being put into the club by DH and the seemingly consequential actions of KA not to commit fully his £2.5m thereafter that led to the distrust over the financing of the club and much of what happened since.

Time to move on though.

Don’t go H, for some weird & wonderful reason after every one of your posts I get a warm tingly feeling in my stomach that everything is going to be OK.

or am I just in love?

just looked this up and it seems north ferriby went under because they owed 8 grand to a turf company or landscaper or summat.

the eygptian dude at hull city now seems to own a firm that manufacturers electric generators or something similar.

i cant link it together , is it super obvious and i'm being numb ? i vaguely remember the hull tigers thing causing a stink, but dont think thats owt to do with it.
