Doing well with the ball, but wish we could bowl some quality Yorkers like Starc. Yep. The lack of Yorkers limit our wicket potential against the best batting sides like India. Sweaty finish this. England should win from here. But India have wickets in hand....

bwfcfan5
Need to get a breakthrough here. 10 an over wickets in hand. India have a real chance here. Edit: brilliant catch and just what the doctor ordered. Seriously under this pressure that is a magic catch from Woakes. Edited June 30, 2019 by bwfcfan5

miamiwhite
Yes, excellent return to form for England. If we bat first v the Kiwis then we’ll hammer them too, nothing to fear in my opinion.

But before the World Cup we had the best chasing record in the world didn’t we?
Site Supporter Tonge moor green jacket Posted June 30, 2019 Site Supporter Share Posted June 30, 2019 Excellent performance all round. Two Durham lads will be playing at home against new Zealand, might give them an extra bit. Weather is set fine all week, so pitch should be dry. Lovely ground for an evening match with the castle lit up, but that's not happening this time.

Smiley
The pressure seems off us when we bat first. With every game being a cup final from now on - we don't want that nervy run chase and seeing the likes of Buttler coming in and defending rather than being his swashbuckling best. bwfcfan5
Won the toss and we're batting. One of their better bowlers out injured...c'mon England do not balls this up. Please.
bwfcfan5
After a brilliant start this has ground to a halt. I felt 350 was needed but can't see us getting there unless Stokes can get going quickly. From what looked like a romp for England this could get quite nervy later on this afternoon.

Rashid does a good job for his captain generally. Batted well today and helped in a run out.
Site Supporter Tonge moor green jacket Posted July 3, 2019 Site Supporter Share Posted July 3, 2019 All in all another good display. Going to take a special effort for NZ to win from here, so well done England. Bowled well again and excellent fielding.

We open the batting, we’ll win again.

bwfcfan5
I'd rather play Australia in the semi final at Edgbaston and India in the final at Lords. One way or another we need to win against both to win it. India at Edgbaston have the crowd again and also they know we've beaten them already. They won't bat as cautiously for the first 10 overs again and that could be the difference because we didn't look like skittling their middle order out at Edgbaston. Australia have an amazing record at Lords against us - no thanks. And have already beaten us there this world cup. And it wasn't just a defeat it was an absolute pounding. Get Australia up to a cauldron of noise at Edgbaston and a proper hostile crowd and a wicket where we may well have the edge on them - we've batted well there and nullified the Indian attack. If we play the same way and just see off Starc like we did Bumrah and then attack - we have a chance. Then India at Lords where hopefully the crowd will be less partisan and the wicket more even for both sides.
