..... and there in a nutshell is why Parky has to go. When fans as passionate as Mounts can't face going to the last home game of the season then it's time to get rid.

I think it's the shoulders hunched, hands in pockets, chastised schoolboy stance that does it for me.

I'm guessing most of the u18s get some sort of payment so are they not members of the PFA?

If they are and the wages aren't paid on the 30th then surely they won't turn out on Wednesday so we wouldn't be able to field any team at all?

We'll probably get a 3 point deduction tomorrow. If we cannot raise a team we will face a draconian punishment.

How Draconian are you thinking Malc?

Is there any precedent?

I heard on a podcast that only similar incident anytime recently in Britain was Hamilton in 2000, they were docked 15 points.

I don't think it'd have ant bearing on us, different FA, different era etc but -15 on top of a possible -12 if we go in admin and somehow still exist... Well, some of us would be completing their 92 in 2 seasons I'd expect.

Wigan Borough ceased to function in October 1931. As it was early in the season the impact of deleting their results was minimal.

If you are running a serious competition would you want a club which could not fulfil its fixtures would you allow them to stay in the competition the following season?

Wouldn't shock me, but would underline what a massive set of cunts they are.

It's a meaningless game, just give the three points to Brentford and move on. Who does it benefit to have us stick the u12s out there to get a pasting?

More arsed about a fixture list than whether we survive.

The main concern of the EFL (some might say only concern) is getting the fixtures played to maintain the integrity of the league. They will be enormous pressure on the club to play the games watch out for disciplinary meeting on Monday. Once games have been played and/or been punished they will go back to not giving a shit about the important stuff like bent owners and financial unsustainability across EFL

Can only hope this, together with a new boss, makes the efl reflect, toughen up and become more relevant.

There's actually a more recent precedent - Blackpool against Huddersfield in 2014. Called off after the home fans staged a sit-in on the pitch. EFL said..

"Playing the match again would serve no justifiable purpose seeing as its result has no bearing on promotion or relegation," said the Football League.

Blackpool eventually got docked three points for failing to fulfil a fixture, suspended for two seasons and the result was recorded as 0-0.

The difference with that would be that the game actually began so it was considered an abandonment rather than a postponement.

Dunno how itk he is, but per a current l1 player the game will go ahead by crook or hook... wonder how many of the coaching staff have retained/can be registered to play?

I'm not sure why that would account for them docking us points when they didn't Blackpool. Call it a 3-0 win for Brentford and focus on helping the club stay clear of crooks and crackpots.

Surely the kids are member of the PFA?

Wonder if we could be forced to sign 17 free agents on for the last 2 games and just give them £100 a man ?

or get 17 blokes to pay £100 each to pay.

record defeat in protest?

I reckon we'd need to get special dispensation to play flying subs if some of us were turning out.

We're all (I think) younger than the oldest registered player, though he never actually played.

The Scunthorpe v Exeter City was never played in the 1973/74 season.

There isn't always universal agreement as to if a match should be postponed Back in March 1974 Halifax Town and Exeter City asked the Football League to postpone matches because their respective playing squads had been decimated by injury and illness. In Exeter's case they had medical certificates for 9 unfit players which left them with just 9 fit players, two of them goalkeepers. Halifax were given permission to postpone their Division 3 match at Bournemouth on Saturday March 30th 1974 but Exeter were refused permission to call of their matches against Peterborough the same day and Scunthorpe 3 days later. They played, and lost, their home match against Peterborough but refused to travel to Scunthorpe to fulfil their Division 4 fixture at the Old Showground scheduled for Tuesday April 2nd. There was speculation that Exeter's punishment might be expulsion from the Football League but later in April it was announced that the Devon side had been fined £5000 for not fulfilling the fixture and in addition were ordered to compensate Scunthorpe £1094 for the lost gate receipts and expenses. It was a massive sum for a Division 4 side to pay. Uniquely the two points were awarded to Scunthorpe and the match was not ordered to be played. It is the only fixture in Football League history that was never played.

Potentially it might only be the ones who have signed pro contracts as the scholars wouldn’t necessarily be considered ‘professionals’. Can’t say with absolute certainty but it would make sense.

Because Blackpool intended to play the game, and did so until crowd unrest stopped the game, whereas this may have been deemed to be within the club’s control.

Anyone know when the next SAG meeting is? I’m assuming one will be called today/tomorrow?

There will only be a SAG meeting if Ken wants to host the Brentford match. So far all we've heard is the EFL want the match to take place.

Looking at Wednesday according to sky sports
