It's the fancy-dancey TPE that have the problems with punctuality > All the gear no idea. Blackburn to Halifax tends to arrive early at every stop. Lostock > Oxford Road > Liverpool Lime St. £20. Every train was late, not once did she get a seat, WiFi wasn’t working. Heating on full Got lost in the Liverpool underground (She didn’t even know that was a thing) Got a black cab stuck in traffic to go 5 mins down the road £9. She’s in Manchester today hoping to finish at 4:30 and be home for 5 on black eye Friday. Bless her. I mean they verge on third world standard sometimes. Herded onto a train to Manchester at rush hour, people cramming on, passengers not able to get on, train ends up late then sits outside Salford for 20 minutes waiting for its slot into victoria or deansgate. I go to Leeds quite often and always use TPE - never Northern (ugghhhh) and go 1st. Its the only way. Even then you often end up with 1st class full of standers. I've sympathy with them to an extent and certainly agree no-one should put up with abuse at work regardless of whether it's verbal or physical but I feel for the vast, vast majority of other passengers on there who have to put up with enduring one of the worst performing yet highly priced public "services" in the entire country. The abuse may well be frustrations boiling over, but it's the poor buggers at the sharp end who cop for it unfairly. Been there myself, albeit in a different role. Chap at the station said it was because staff had walked out of a station up the line. They plan to walk out on Christmas Eve as well.
