Corona according to his son but once again a 79 year old dying isn't particularly unusual at any time.

Edit - Just been on news that he was in hospital with heart failure but then contacted CV. I wonder how helpful it is (either way) to label these as death due to CV.

Apparently Bill Withers took a small cheque for his album and singles but kept the masters and publishing rights hence one of the reasons why he didn’t record beyond 1978.

Aye, never really got on with his record company, or the industry itself really. Sad loss, great right up on his life here
