Keith Hill

Deserves its own thread...

Just read the latest bit of waffle. Sounds like he’s trying to talk himself out of a job.

8 at home, that’s 8 too many. Only hope is the spurs lad comes in and Crawford gets fit, hopefully that’ll give us a lift and we start to show something decent on the pitch.

Where is the spurs lad?

He’s still at Spurs recovering from injury.

Ah so the deal was once fit we have him still end of season

Spurs to get him fit then he joins. Hope it’s soon.

Crawford is definitely becoming a better player in everyone's eyes the longer he's out injured.

Must have the wrong player, it was local lad from Bury/Bolton area who played under Hill at Rochdale, was some podcast where he also told the tale about Ogrady and Hill when OGrady was supposed to be playing CF and kept pulling out to the left much to Hills anger.  Someone will know who the player was, the podcast worth listening to it’s very funny.

I think it was Tonge Moor's own Nicky Adams.

Indeed.

Tidy enough pre-injury, but it's not like we were winning every game with him in the side. It'll take more than getting him fit to get back on track

He certainly won't weaken the side, that's for sure.

Be nice to have someone there capable of passing the ball forward

To be honest, I'm not that bothered about the accuracy of the pass but it'd be nice to see one go forward.

I guess I'm still in the camp of giving KH a good run of games next season although he does make supporting him difficult at times. I was hoping for some more signs of progress by now but from a first team perspective there's not many 'building blocks'  - no one you would really build a team round next season for example. Signings like Nsiala I  just don't get. I know he's a loan but I thought he wanted to play out from the back and Nsiala is never that type of player. Makes me wonder if anyone watched him play before signing.

This run of games is bollocks. He’s got plenty of time this season to prove he’s the man.

This.

And he's failing.

Zouma is better than Nsiala, IMO.

Just saying like...

I doubt there's much between them tbh. But Zouma surely has more potential to improve.

Agree with that and Zouma will be here next season.

He won't if Hill is.

He should be playing the youngsters and getting it going. Not playing folk who won’t be here next year

This season has gone, get those contracted to us playing.

I don't buy into the losing will demotivate them argument.

Treating them like shit demotivates young lads more.

I might be wrong and I'm sure it's a minority view but, with the exception of Politic, I don't think we'll be relying on any of the players we've got under contract next season.

Which means Keith getting in a whole new squad of loans, has beens and rejects. Not something to look forward to.

Disagree there.  For all we can pick defensive errors from him (both goals v Wycombe arguably, Coventry goals, Bristol goal), he does pass the ball out.  Often to the extent that he hangs on for it too long because he really wants to make a good pass to feet.  His distribution is decent, no problem with that part of his game, same as Hobbs.  Surely nobody can deny Hill is trying to get all 4 defenders passing it to feet, whether its working or not is another matter but I'd rather see them trying it than launching it every time.
