Quantity “loads”?

a few million pieces of equipment to me is “loads”. It might not be enough but it’s loss?

i Thought you were logging out as you couldn’t cope with mounts?

Hancock said there was enough and everyone would have what they need. Some clearly have not.

That is all pretty clear is nt it ?

Hancock said yesterday - We have enough PPE for everyone based on the new guidelines on how the equipment should be used.

It is essential people do not use too much. He also said new guidelines are that equipment be used for longer than previously thought. So if following old guidelines you will be using too much, need to stop this.

He has been hammered for this today.

The images of nurses wearing carrier bags and subsequently getting the virus will and should haunt this government.

We supply some of the big care home groups with bedlinen, towels and other textile products, I know the procurement heads and I can tell you while they have stock it’s nowhere near enough they need 100s of thousand every week. We’re looking at airfreighting stock such is the demand.

Isolated incidents I believe. Whilst being not acceptable what the nhs are facing is unprecedented

did you hear the discussion around oxygen and professor van tams very articulate explanation about the shortage of oxygen crisis that was being reported? To me it’s the same thing here

and when you hear stories like above around prices etc and then throw in the logistics issues we’ve got a problem. But it’s all the governments fault for not predicting this pandemic. Sack the lot. Cunts

Nurses wearing carrier bags is this year's nurses going to food banks.

It's bollocks. Emotive bollocks, but bollocks all the same.

The main problem is with guidance. What PPE do I need for what procedure. Not all nurses need FFP3 all the time. That's what Matt Hancock was getting at.

Thank you mate for that

sensationalism at its best and you’ve just completely shot it down in one post

well done

So @Ani will the government still be and should be haunted by this fake story in your opinion about the carrier bags?

If nurses are having to use plastic bags why aren’t the government sourcing through other industry’s with in the UK ? I work in the rail industry and we’re supplied with full face masks there will be  tens of thousands  in stock nationally and it will be the same in numerous other industry’s were there used

So Esco was right.

Personally I always think t he media feed on the odd story that fits their narrative. The 2 nurses I know (Kent is one) say PPE isn’t a problem.

The care home thing - Kent is bang on I reckon. That’s going to be a heartbreaker.

The oxygen shortage story is the same. Not sure which paper/media outlet it was that was running about daft with it yesterday. Turned out it was one Hospital in watford I thjnk and it was down to the engineering in the hotel not being able to cope with the increased demand for oxygen. Not that there wasn’t enough as made out.

it makes it a hundred times worse for people as it just Ramps up the panic and I’m surprised at some on here also running with these stories too

Jeez. You are hard work. Yes that image will haunt the government it is already everywhere. As usual you are taking a totally one sided view of something

Let me list some facts.

1 yesterday Hancock said there are new guidelines on when PPE is needed and how long it can be used for.
2 As a result of these guidelines less PPE is needed by individual staff.
3 as a result of 1 and 2 and the increased supply that has been worked on there is enough stock

4 he has also acknowledged there have been distribution issues

5 Boris stood up in parliament and send the PPE will be with hospitals this week. (Whenever that was)

6 An article about nurses using carrier bags was in the papers a few days ago. Those nurses are reported to have the virus now.

Any of those 6 you disagree with ??

Firstly I’m taking the factual account of someone who is on the front line who I trust to portray the truth. You don’t think Kent is telling the truth?

secondly If im such hard work don’t engage with me simple as that. Won’t bother me in the slightest plenty will engage with me

oh and I believe 1-5 are factual accounts yes  I believe 6 is sensationalized bullshit  which is backed up by Kent’s front line view of things

I also saw as no 7 am account saying we have an oxygen shortage in  the nhs  turns out it’s not true  but it was also in the papers  so Do you believe It’s true point 7 as it was in the papers?

Government is treading a fine line between keeping what is left of the economy going and peoples safety..

Ideal world.. lock everyone indoors,

but they want to keep things ticking over.

Should be all or nothing tbh

And a local GPs surgery still hasn't had it's PPE

Not waffle, not rumour, cold hard fact

Where do they order their PPE from Cas? Is it NHS Supplies or do they go private?

Should be. Correct

what happens then when Millions lose their jobs? And find themselves on universal credit. Governments fault then? Not a pop just a genuine scenario that would happen and would like your view as you seem to be quite balanced in your views

So which of the 6 facts do you disagree with ?

Kents post states that Hancock clarified the usage of the PPE yesterday. So that is a major element of the facts.

Never did say that.

Apologies.

You did not say that you said you would continue to go to the pub, despite many saying it was a bad idea, because it had not been outlawed.

It was playing golf that you said you would continue to go do, despite many saying it was a bad idea, because it had not been outlawed.

I apologise if my mistake has caused upset.

Reluctantly I’ll have to abide, sadly it’s not needed, not yet anyhow and the alarmists have won the day if we do lock down within the next couple of days.

So back to my question, what is different to your approach above, and companies, that have not been ordered to close doors, continuing to open ?
