Unless it’s essential work it’s clear they should not be working and it follows should be furloughed.

But it's not clear..

They have said people can go to work, if they cannot work from home.

There is guidance for tradesmen etc on the gov.uk website.

It’s clear to me, any employee not classified as essential should close down and furlough staff.

What's happening in care homes will be the untold story of this outbreak. It's horrific.

The care home staff are absolute hero’s, I’d not step foot in one without full body armour.

Maybe not, but only unscrupulous business owners would put staff at risk, no doubt it’s going on but it shouldn’t be.

When everyone said you was wrong for going for a pint, your argument was that the govt had not outlawed it at the time, so you could.

Whats different ?

I've been COVID testing in care homes over the past couple of days. Its an impossible situation for the staff. They're mostly on minimum wage - and the fact that they've not just all walked en masse is a massive credit to them. They care home staff don't get the attention the nursing staff get - but the conditions they're working under are unreal. The hospital don't want to admit their residents - and the GP's don't want to come out to them. They've been forgotten about.

They're the fucking heroes!

I work directly in the PPE Industry, we produce many products which are directly required for the frontline NHS/Healthcare works.

Generally speaking the Chinese are being utter cunts. Seizing on the huge surge in demand for production/product and profiteering brazenly. Coveralls are upward in price 60-65% than as of early Jan. FFP2 & FFP3 masks even more so. Then you have the cost of airfreight moving upwards of 30-35% in the last 3 weeks.

One of the MP’s, sure it was Matt Hancock said they are committed to spending £10 billion on PPE. Issue is they’ll only be getting some like the equivalent of £2-3 billion worth of product.

The ways some companies Chinese , UK & European has been nothing short of disgraceful.

Wankers!!!

Can you get us any FFP testing fluid? We've got the PPE - we just don't have the fluid to test it!

Quantity “loads”?

a few million pieces of equipment to me is “loads”. It might not be enough but it’s loss?

i Thought you were logging out as you couldn’t cope with mounts?

Said earlier today that care home staff are doing the equivalent of marching to war. Some have moved in full time to care for the residents, which is beyond heroic.

Some of these billions need o be given as bonuses to these (mainly) girls when this is over and they should be given medals.

I saw them briefly when my mum was in one recently and it’s grim, awful work they do for fucking buttons.

Hancock said yesterday - We have enough PPE for everyone based on the new guidelines on how the equipment should be used.

It is essential people do not use too much. He also said new guidelines are that equipment be used for longer than previously thought. So if following old guidelines you will be using too much, need to stop this.

He has been hammered for this today.

The images of nurses wearing carrier bags and subsequently getting the virus will and should haunt this government.
