ACAS are going to be busy ahead of thousands of tribunals next year I imagine. in some cases the off you pop message will be justified I reckon but also some where there are real concerns about it. but we can’t hide for ever. Can't blame him for being concerned. Quote
kent_white Posted May 15, 2020 Posted May 15, 2020 One things to bear in mind with all this. We've got the infrastructure and the beds and the testing kits and the ventilators and the PPE. What we've not got is a load more critical care nurses, Doctors and ICU consultants. And they've been working flat out for the past 2 months. Quote

Loads of doctors and ICU consultants will then come back from retirement or Saudi Arabia - 1st Year nursing students can make up remaining shortfalls, most of them know an arse from an elbow. We need to get the kids back in school for June and July, those Shrek DVDs won't watch themselves y'know. The whole world will be like a film of the ghastly propagandaist Ken Loach if we don't...millions will die from lack of scratchcards and big tellies. Fuck me, I wouldn't have liked to be in the trenches with some of these screechers. Six weeks stuck with the kids and they're waving a white flag to the bosch (covid-19). Quote

Escobarp Posted May 15, 2020 Posted May 15, 2020 All us grafters should be given a nice Cash bonus by the government and a couple of weeks off with first dibs at all the foreign holidays I reckon. Only fair that way Quote

Kids get CV, proven everywhere. The care homes have had 22 thousand EXTRA deaths, most in the last 5 weeks, during the lcokdown , with family visits banned. I think that's pretty shocking. There's roughly half a million in care homes, 1.5 million care home workers, and thousands of businesses that support them. If we carry on as we are, what do you think the residents of the care homes, the workers, the businesses and all their families are going to think and do, there will be millions of pissed off people. The virus spreads through society - one bloke socially distancing properley at work might prevent some care home deaths down the line - it's all linked. No government in the world thinks its bollocks apart from maybe Belarus, who's leader is a loon and thinks vodka, a tractor ride, a sauna and a game of ice hockey sorts it. Quote

kent_white Posted May 15, 2020 Posted May 15, 2020 I work in testing at the moment. We've got more capacity than we know what to do with. The reality is that the numbers requiring testing have dropped significantly over the past month. As have the number of people requiring critical care. If we are going to reopen the country in a staged way - then now seems like the logical time to do it. We will have a second wave - without a vaccine there's no real way of avoiding one. What we need to work on now is training up critical care staff to deal with the new influx. Quote

You could work the ventilators with support from a senior nurse fairly easily. Quote
