But a lot have towed the safeguarding line. It's hard with maths (my subject) as kids often learn at very different paces. I've been recording videos on a visualizer and uploading to youtube..Most seem happy with that. great, I'm just thinking selfishley from my point of view really, but I bet there are loads of kids who would be able to contiue schooling from home if it didn't effect the quality of their eductaion so much. I've got one kids thats a lazy get, he's suffering, but the other one is doing fine at home. Quote
only1swanny Posted May 14, 2020 Posted May 14, 2020 You will get a kid doing the zoom in pj's.. His/her mate will record pictures and send it round social media causing more issues.. I've seen kids getting bullied over wearing Umbro, they will spot anything! Kids do crazy things. Quote

She'd seen a lady interviewed about the co morbidity stats and said she mentioned almost every potential cause except obesity. This lady was herself rather large. Speaking to friends who are or have been on the Covid ward and the large amount of large people is a consistent theme. So why isn't it highlighted in these figures? like what if your a fat cunt your goin to die y you think every man and is fat wife are walking bikeing every day now Quote

But equally there is a case for caution above and beyond the immediate deaths and that is around virus mutation. Covid will never go away, but if it is to survive as a species it has no choice but to mutate into a less harmful version as wiping out hosts is no way to spread. So potentially, if "the vulnerable" can hang on for a while, the virus could become it's own "vaccine" - i.e. will mutate into a less aggressive form which we can all catch without experiencing problems. Not sure if it's the lockdown vino that's talking but I like the idea of the virus mutating into it's own vaccine. On the business front the Government are currently investigating changes into a raft of business related systems including apprenticeships (my missus is involved in the consultation) so I now have additional concerns that they are going to reinvent the wheel yet again in order for Dominic to "put his own stamp on things" - like they all do i.e. rip out everything that previous Governments have invested in and pay a load of consultants (mates) to come up with a variance on the model and then TUPE the same people across to deliver the same old shit at massive public expense. Faculty will undoubtedly be involved to the tune of millions of the taxpayers dosh - potentially the new Capita? Quote

We need to get the wheels turning of course but I really don't see the "poverty will kill more than Covid" lot being correct, especially as many spouting on twitter seem to be right of centre small government types so how they square that circle is beyond me. We do all need to get back to work though one way or another. Glad it ain't my responsibility for sure. Quote

If we keep on printing cash for people to stay home and stay safe my worry is we hit hyper inflation eventually and its a grand for a Warbies Toastie. Get this antibody test done ASAP. Get back to work. Listen to the WHO... We might never get over the corona virus even with a vaccine... That is fucking mental. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-52643682 Quote

Hong Kong flu killed 80k in UK over 16 months, that's two flu seasons without any lockdown. Sometimes we get 50k dead over 2 bad seasonal flu seasons. We're at 60k after 3 - 4 months, with a lockdown, and still adding on a few thousand a week. Not comparable. Fatality rate isnt 0.1% of the infected, there's 24.2k dead already in NYC, out of a population of 8.4 mil. That's almost 0.3 of the whole city population, never mind just the infected. He's a hotel owner that wants to reduce his losses. Quote
