What's puzzling (and the reason I'm keen) is that whilst Mrs Swanny was in hospital, she contracted a "mystery illness" which caused a cough and then led to an over saturation of white blood cells and pnumonia, alongside a partially collapsed lung.. She spent weeks on oxegen before being sent home without a diagnosis. With hindsight, sounds very similar to covid-19 and if it was that.. it would explain a lot. When did all that start, wasn't it before we officially had it?

Surely the Indian option was more viable when offices were the norm. Who hasn't had a call from someone who you couldn't understand. Can definitely see more home working, that may allow companies to save money, without as much need to export jobs. A customer of mine works for a brewery, and he's been told by a very senior person, that working from home has been very revealing and it may be looked at for the future. Otherwise everything else is on systems and its all administration and processing. Will be asking about it when we are fully return, if would save me clogging up the roads for 2 hours a day and i would be contributing to a cleaner environment, i may become a snowflake yet ❄️ How complex is the exam script for making sure all the burgers have a bit of gherkin anyway? Having taken a couple of McExams (albeit 20 years ago) most of the questions are multiple choice. There were some maths questions and an essay to write though
Ani
Right this 2 metre rule is based on scientific advice. At some point it will be reduced can we please note that when it happens it is not Govt backing down it is just that we are in a different phase. Not in Crawley
What I’m finding interesting in this whole we should have shout down earlier is that all our offices globally locked down 10 days before the country - Google and Universal opposite two weeks before. So, if nasty capitalist, corporate businesses could see this, why couldn’t our government?

Automation, outsourcing and process efficiencies brings disintermediation but for the most part this will lead to reintermediation elsewhere That will be longer term of course Tech jobs are up again this week Since jan London had more invested in tech than Paris, Stockholm, Berlin and Tel Aviv added together. Manc, Leeds, Bristol all still v busy hubs too FinTech ongoing boom and EdTech investment was up 91% since covid Sounds glib but lots of jobs are there if you have a desired skill set

Being Hypothetical is a great thing, unfortunately i bet they wish they had shut down 2 weeks earlier. So they thought it would be over in a couple of days? Otherwise, why worry over a week If their plan was to reduce the impact on education, i think we can agree they royally fcuked up

Not in Crawley
The modelling saying it would have done and we’d have a clearer path out if this now. It takes a lot for corporate businesses to shut down offices, to do so before they are told to by the government even more so. So, on the face of it we have employers caring more snout the safety of their staff above the needs of business before the government. It’s not a good look whichever way you look at it, and people wonder why people have more faith in business than the government. I mean, our offices over the world had the day off on Friday in respect of the protests, and for the leadership team to question our already pretty progressive ways of working. Again, seems where large corporates lead, the government are slow to follow. Im not defending everything - lords knows if I don’t bank I’m out, and fingers crossed I still have a job after this all, but it’s interesting to see how far behind actual leadership our current government has been in tackling the larger issues.
