Spider Posted September 11, 2020 Posted September 11, 2020 Picked my daughter up from primary school earlier. overheard 2 conversations: ”I’ve got to isolate for 2 weeks later, so that’s Netflix getting another hammering giggle giggle” So - isolating after she’s done her errands. “They do nowt these” (bloke carrying a mask in his hand) We’ve no chance. I can’t blame Boris for people being fucking simpletons. Quote
stevieb Posted September 11, 2020 Posted September 11, 2020 Similar in manc Arndale on Tuesday. Some woman talking loudly on her phone 'I'm getting dirty looks off everyone because I've not mask on.... I left it at home didn't I'.... Tell you what though, the merch peddlers don't miss a trick. Market Street trolleys full of face coverings for sale. Drove through Cheetham upon the hill on the way home... Zero fucks given. Not one mask seen. Quote

All pupils and teachers have to wear masks. I believe that’s not the case here. Just shows how different countries approach the problem. When they decided to have our kids wearing them I school corridors, the interviewed Boris about it. He said you can't have pupils and teachers wearing them in class. Whilst I can except that teachers' voices may be a bit muffled, if the kids are quiet then its still easy enough to make out what is being said. For me, they should be wearing them all the time they're in school. Especially where cases are so high in the community. Quote

Drove through there twice this week, mid afternoon both times. It really is like nothing has happened, business as usual. Quote

Mrs has been helping out at her mates butty shop whilst her hours are reduced at work. It's only dead small and there's a rule of no more than 2 customers in at once. She was telling me that today they had 2 lads in when another 2 walked in. They were asked if they minded waiting outside until the first 2 had been served. One of um asked the other lads if they were together and when they said yes he turned to my Mrs and said "no it's OK luv, they can be together and we can and just count it as 2 bubbles". I'm going for the thick as fuck option. Quote

Ominous this Just had a kids match cancelled on Sunday due to opposition manager testing positive. it all feels a little like early Feb/ March at the moment, counting cases, watching the rise , but instead of deaths in other countries being the barometer it’s cases in areas here. Kids don't have masks. Don't blame her/him. Primary are supposed to be the lowest risk, it secondary that may be more problematic. Been told by a pupil at St Catherine's that masks were virtually non existent in corridors this week, loads of kids all crammed into them, no distancing and all moving about together. Doesnt sound promising. Quote

Duck Egg Posted September 11, 2020 Posted September 11, 2020 I've been feeling a bit shit the last couple of days, temperature, woolly head and aching like feck. No loss of taste though. I was passing the Etihad this morning so drove in to see if I could get a test. There were loads of staff about but no one but me as far as I could see wanting a test. I got turned away as I didnt have some number or other and they told me to turn up at a centre in Ancoats instead. You could see the tents there but after queuing ages through the traffic and temporary lights there was no drive in facility, or none I could see anyway. I was feeling even worse by then and gave up and drove home. Quote

Go on here https://covid.joinzoe.com Input your symptoms and theyll send you an email. Well they did for me anyway. You probably won't get it till Monday or Tues, so if you feel worse before, go and get one Edited September 11, 2020 by peelyfeet Quote
