Bolton would be the fourth biggest urban area in Sweden, we have 13 bigger than the second biggest and Manchester is bigger than the capital. Added to this the social and economical difference and we are not able to compare the two in my opinion. They did what works for them and I don't think it would necessarily work for us.

I would rather be both than the UK. Or Spain France Or Italy for that matter.

we need our economy to bounce back and the way we are heading we will do the opposite and simply cripple ourselves for a decade minimum if we lockdown again.

We're too far down the current path unfortunately. I think I posted on here in March saying we needed to copy South Korea, its taken us 6 months and we've still not caught up. They had an app, targeted testing, local restrictions, masks, mashals on public transport, temperature checks at transport hubs in Feb when we were just washing our hands. They've had less than 400 deaths and gdp is down 3.8%. We're too slow, too proud, too sceptical.

In fairness to him, he may not have had it.

From what I can see on twitter  he's been involved in arranging raves during lockdown and posting it on social media, with folk copying in the coppers, so I reckon he's been on their radar for a while

The head start S Korea has had is more like 6 years than 6 months

Most of the infrastructure was in place from previous epidemic’s

He's not had it, so the S*n blaming him for the Bolton spike is outrageous really.
