I think we will sell 10k S/T’s comfortably

Pricing will be a factor.  There will be a feeling from some that they are paying for games up front but there could be another lockdown at any point in the season, especially in winter, that will put some off unless they are cheap.

As long as we don't get relegated, it will be better than 3 of the last 5 seasons

I don't see how this can work....currently I have my ST next to my mate's, but i'm assuming there would  now have to be a 1 or 2 seat gap between us, fair enough........but what happens when capacity is hopefully increased,  would they go through the performance of changing ST seat numbers again mid-season ?

& away games if there are some crowds admitted, when Torquay banned away fans ,we still went & everyone got in, so there'll be loads will still travel & take their chances especially for aways within an hour.

For me it should be all or nothing & would prefer to wait until crowds can be back to normal & people can make their own judgement.

Only problem with that is the clubs wont be around by the time that happens if they cant get some gate income.  40% capacity/income could be a life saver for many EFL clubs.

Fuck em

Surely you can sell season tickets to family members next to each other.

I have been in lockdown with Yoof for 4 months approx we would drive over together, go for a beer maybe and then not be allowed to sit together ? Seems daft.

You'd have to for families with young children.

Taking Leeds as an example, they could sell 40,000 season tickets minimum assuming they get promoted, its a nightmare to decide who gets them.  Even if you went on "loyalty", you'll have families split with Dad going to the game coz he's been going for 10 years plus and his son, who's not missed a game for 5 years, sat at home.  Its going to bring out a load of FOMO, if there's a crowd allowed in Bolton home games and I'm not allowed to go, I'd rather it was empty.  Proper feeling of detachment and missing out if its all going on without you.  If fans werent already in the habit of just watching on TV, its going to speed it up even more, getting a ticket will be too much like hard work for the less than committed.

Elland Road doesn't fit 40,000, though!

And then they have to give 3,000 for away fans

In the middle of a piece with evatt, he says training next week with  view to commencing on September 12

I'm guessing hes been told itll be no sooner than that

I have a feeling that all clubs will see a massive reduction in ST sales this time round, unless the clubs can clarify how it will work - imagine paying out several hundred pounds for you and your family, and then a second wave hits and you only actually get to go to 3 or 4 games.

One way of looking at it. Or folk are that starved of going and the fact walk on tickets seem unlikely that it could spike. I agree pricing will be a big factor

Fag packet maths: if there's to be a salary cap of 1.5m, that's 5k adults paying £300 for ST

Yeah, but there's a load more costs than just wages

Sorry for stating the obvious, as I know you know that

Plenty dont seem to

Of course! Hence fag packet maths comment

There are other income streams other than ST too, as I know you know that.

It would be interesting to know what the baseline costs are but then again I don't want the accounts brought up again 😂

Looking at carrying on with 5 subs next season, ridiculous. Why?

Because it's what the big clubs want.

I quite like the idea, should mean more youngsters get game time

Still be playing at 10 past 5 though if both teams have made their full complement of subs, loads of stoppages.

Works for the big teams with large squads, but for us, with a max of 23, I'd be surprised if we could raise that big a matchday squad what with injuries and such

Thats one way of looking at it I suppose, cant change my opinion, I dont want a party going on that I'm excluded from.

maybe all fans should protest 🤔

Going back to my question a few days ago; it isn't actually beyond the realms of possibility that masks may be required.

In the same way as social distancing is difficult on public transport perhaps it could be the answer to getting fans in. After all, clubs with potentially restricted earnings are going to struggle and that's not something the government will want to see.

You can make five subs but only at three separate intervals

To start sometime in September and with fans?

When are National league playoffs? just wondering who'd be best to come up.
