Joe Royle - the late 1970s was a good era for Bolton but Bristol City finished higher up the league every season

Yes their late 70's team was very good. Over the years they have consistently popped our bubble.

They beat us 2-1 in our first home game in division one 78/79, hammered us at Wembley in 86 and Rioch era they beat us early doors 2-0 at Burnden in the promotion season.  Ashton Gate was also our biggest bogey ground, about 90 odd years without a win there.

Wierd link with Leeds there.  Jordan, Hunter, Cooper, Taylor, Rose - and Mark Gavin - either started at Leeds or made their name there.
