It’s mad. What happens to safe guarding when they play on grass and there’s no fence. What’s happened to common sense?

Should be a parent barrier up, in the absence of one the perimeter fence does the job. Leagues and FAs can fine clubs for it. Anyone beyond the barrier needs to be DBS checked. Yesterday I watched a game with that many golf umbrellas parents were basically on the pitch. I am a cunt for it, to which your FIL can testify 😂

I think tony bates was our manger, we used to train at peel hall school I think

Also remember futbol, swear we had sessions of that in the hall at hulton high

Peel, or Peel Utd? Another offshoot.

Was it Tony Leach? Defo will have had sessions at Hulton High

My lads just been asked to play a year up for an under 13s team at 11-a-side along side his Saturday team.

Currently trying to convince him that two more training sessions a week and an extra game on a Sunday is a good idea 🤣🤦‍♂️

😂😂No problem with the barrier on the grass, as you can still see and let’s face it a piece Of rope ain’t going to stop a 40 year old bloke wanting to twat a 6 year old if he wants too. It’s being stood behind those fences. Have you seen the ones on pitford rd? The fence is designed so you can only see half of the pitch apart from in the corner. 8am Sat morning, 20 parents all trying to get that same spot in the corner.

Stupid aren’t they? Lowry Academy doesn’t have a barrier- either parents are stood in a bush, or for Manchester League games, a cord gets tied through the 7v7 nets on the side. With artificial pitches, you need to have bases for barrier poles- they are all spikes though, so went penetrate the ground

Do any of you lot use Veo? We've managed to get an old camera but the subscription is £360 a year. Deciding whether to ask parents for a contribution, or get a sponsor perhaps.

Our first team do, I think one u11s have their own. My lads team does obvs… great for creating clips etc. If you are keen enough with the graphic could be a good sponsorship opportunity- cheaper than a kit and get as much exposure. We had one dad record everything on his phone, using some sort of stick, noted the goal times and produced a video every week

My lads played for a couple of teams that use them. Great bit of kit. Just make sure you turn the audio off, calling kids lazy little cunts then sending the video out in the parents group is never a good idea! 😂

One thing pissing me Off with GR footy at the moment is playing behind cages on 4G. My lad played away at Bramhall the other week for school, now when we are at home the teacher lets parents stand inside the fence line so that they can actually see the game. On this occasion the ref, a guy in his 50s, had a power trip on and came over demanding we go on the outside of the fence. When asked why, it’s to do with kids safety and protection. 🤷🏻‍♂️ protection from what? There was loads of space around the pitch. To make it worse this was one these pitches where there wasn’t full access all the way round so there’s 15/20 parents all stood behind the net being able To see next to fuck all. Anyway the game ran over and the pitch was pre booked, so the last 20 mins were played out on the grass where we could stand practically on the line. Someone make it make sense

Winds me up that. Looking through fencing like you are watching a jail match .
Get it when the sideline is right up to the fence but some places have paths around them and metres of space but still have to go outside.
there was one the other week where had to download qr code to get in with name and details .
next game everyone stood behind a rope on an open field where literally any man and his dog  can stand and watch .

Blame the FA. It’s not who’s watching, it’s who is allowed to encroach. Anyone walks past that rope they can be removed, game abandoned etc. Don’t have it in place FA can fine you. Are they are doing this season

We've had three spot checks for our Respect barrier and an ID check every single game this season. Wouldn't mind, only I was off my cake on holiday when we had to submit a current photo to go on the lanyard

Yeh I know about the respect line , fully support that, it’s the standing outside the fencing that does my head in , especially when there’s room inside.

Been at Radcliffe this morning- if they own this facility it’s seriously impressive for a club this size. Any kids in Y10/11 looking to do a BTEC should check it out

The 3G near the Neuven? They’ve got a gym in that new building by the 3G that the first team use for S&D and a meeting room. Really impressive. They’re part own by a rapper from the 80’s and his financier pal! Not sure how that came about. Called D.O.C

Really interesting chat with him on the I Had Trials Once.....podcast. It's hosted by Radcliffe's captain and goes into detail about how everything came about.
