New dog law in Germany coming out next year if you own a dog must be walked for at least an hour on each walk twice a day walk must include off the lead exercise. No dog to be left at home all day .
don’t know how it can be enforced and some breeds don’t need that much exercise but the sentiment is right

They did a feature on this on breakfast yesterday. As you say, good sentiment but a bit generalised.

I would imagine its intended to make prosecutions easier in some circumstances, but not necessarily for some jobsworth to be out and about with a stopwatch.

I'd love to have a dog again. Had two in the past. A "Salford street dog stray" vicious bastard cross of Chow/Alsatian that used to guard my Dad's truck and van hire business in Salford and a docile golden lab who lived til she was 15

Loved the pair of them. Walked the legs off both of them over Winter Hill and Rivi when I lived in Sharples and Smithills

And that's the reason that I don't have one now. I'm away from home too much with work, as is Mrs Manc, and I simply couldn't have a dog that didn't get a lot of exercise. Breaks my heart to see folk with these fat, unfit, and shuffling dogs that clearly don't get walked enough

I put people who are cruel to dogs in the same bracket as peadophiles and child killers.

I’d love to see them tortured.

(Applies to any animal for that matter)

That's awful, such an intelligent and energetic breed getting so little exercise and stimulation.

Doggy day care and working from home has enabled us to have one and I cant imagine life without a pooch.  Spent a couple of hours on the moors this afternoon in the pissing down rain

Knob head of a dog got took to the vets, was jumping around like a loony as soon as we stepped inside. Limp magically disappeared and made me look like a dramatic crazy dog woman. Still sold me anti-inflamatories for 34 bastard quid. Little shit will have to be dying before I take him back now. Knob head.

Friend had a 14 year old collie, lived a great life but was absolutely goosed. Struggled to walk and broke my heart to watch her try and get down to eat her food, legs would give way beneath her sometimes. They spoke to the vet and booked an appointment for a few days time, vet said that if he agreed when he saw her they'd do the kind thing of putting her out her daily misery. The next morning she was bright and breezy stood at the back door with his younger dog begging to go out with them. Whilst not exactly running, mate said she was wandering around care free. Little bugger lasted another 6 months 😁

I'm fecked if I know how, but I'm convinced she knew what was going on that day.

When my wife & I got together we had to get my rescue dog who hated other dogs to co-habitate with her yorkie who was as good as gold. It took a long time & only got as far as him tolerating her being near him. The day I had to have him put down I'd rung the vet & made the appointment for later that afternoon. About an hour later the Yorkie got up & went over to where he was lying & climbed on his back & snuggled up to him... & he let her! I'm convinced those two buggers knew they were saying goodbye.

Funny, pain seems to be the thing. We have two cats, one is the mum of the other. The son will piss off for days on end, then come back and mum just hisses and bats him away.

However, we have tons of foxes round here, on night we heard the mum yelping a bit after a fox scrap. She was in the kids room and her son was keeping her warm, being righ nex to her  anyway she had to get her leg amputated. Totally fine now, but still hates her lad.

If I'm going to be able to work at home, thinking about getting a dog. Lot to think about though before we even take that step.

Had to take our Border Collie to vets yesterday she kept shaking her head a lot , vet reckoned ear infection,  £64 for some drops

Had same problem with mine

Took her to the vet's £60 for ear drops only to be to be told later off a friend who's a vet that if it happens again to go and buy some athletes foot cream (daktarin) and gently rub it in her ears worked a treat

Dog walking service could help.

Certainly a growing industry and helps folk like you that otherwise won't get one, even if they'd like to.

If we do end up with a greyhound we aren't to give it off the lead exercise in public until it has bonded properly with us and will return on command. Because once the bastard bolts there's fuck all chance of catching it. Even then its only advised to let them off lead in a secured field.

My old dog hated walks she'd get to the field at the bottom of the estate do her shit and then want to head home. then again she was an old lady who only moved from the sofa/bed for food or for a begrudging walk

My cousins used to have greyhounds that they ran all over the old north west greyhound stadiums. They kept a few of them as pets once their running days were over. Not sure what they did with the dogs that they didn't keep!

Anyway, they were cracking dogs, ideal pets 👍

Yeah just need this rain to piss off long enough so i can fix the fence then we're aiming to get one from a rescue in Tyldesley.

Years of inbreeding has given them all sorts of weird quirks, which is why the missus wants one.

Avoid ones with 3 or 5 legs.

Vets are piss-taking cunts when it comes to medication prices.

Never a truer word spoken

Got you by the bollocks most times

They know most people will pay what ever it takes to get their pet sorted no questions asked after all they are part of the family

Couldn’t do it mate. To me the bond is me and the hound being out. Me being happy with them or me telling them off. I know that you know what I mean.

Aye, I do.

My neighbour has been a dog walker for a good while (ex copper). She does a bit of training etc whilst she's at it.

I reckon some of her dogs get more exercise whith her than the owners. Walks dead quick.

In fairness others get well treated by conscientious owners, who as part of that care ensure they get company and exercise in the day.

Last night about 7 on way back from shop came across this near home

BhGFM3e.jpg

That bloke is leathered, can barely speak, and his bulldog has somehow got off it's lead and won't go back on it

That woman has pulled up trying to help him with no luck, so offer to help

After 10 mins holding traffic up and it hiding under cars and stuff i manage to grab it

It's a strong little fucker and starts trying to bite my hands

The bloke is too pissed to get the lead on, then it chins me in an attempt to escape, proper hard crack like an uppercut to the jaw

Jaw wrecks and as I'm checking its ok notice my hand covered in blood, so looks like when it chinned me it did so with it's mouth open and planted a tooth in my chin

Bloke eventually gives up and sits down on pavement then the dog just trots up and sits next to him!

Get home, still killing and bleeding, so went to A&E - had to have an x ray and stitches

LaiRUV9.jpg

Jaws still fucked now
