I went to a place on The Crescent at Salford. Can’t remember the name. Anyway, he decided to put me on electric shock therapy or something like that. He attached two electrodes which sucked onto my back in the lumber region. He flicked a switch and you could feel the current. He told me that the higher I have it, the better it’ll be for me so I had a bout of manliness and had him keep increasing it. It wasn’t comfortable but we got up to level 10, the highest. Once that was set he switched the cycles on. It was probably the frequency. It started at, say 100 cycles per second and quickly dropped to 50,then 20, then 10 all the way down to one jolt every second. Let me tell you, level 10 at one hit per second was the most uncomfortable I’d ever been. My leg was flailing and kicking fuck out of the treatment table. It was like a puppy having its ribs tickled. Problem is, the physio had fucked off into another room writing a report or something so I had about 10 minutes where every time the cycles were high you just knew that pretty soon the frequency would drop and it’d be back to kicking fuck out of the table. Eventually he popped his head in just as the frequency was dropping and I started flailing. “You should have said” he told me. Cunt! Had something similar in Spain some Old U.K. bird met me in a lay by, went back to her pad and stuck what she said was a Russian electric massage machine on my back, was fucking agony for an hour, but by the fuck it sorted me out for 12 months in fact my back been pretty good in the 5-6 years since. March 15, 20215 yr Author think I've finally got on top of this was going through the motions for ages - couple of dog walks a day, exercise with some stretching 3 times a week but was taking ages - it was sort of going gradually but every now and again it would be agony and felt like was back at start again was taking CBD capsules and switched to oil which I think helped, but the game changer was this bad boy https://pso-rite.co.uk/ it looks like it sorts out loads of tight muscle related conditions, but for sciatica you lie on it with those bits prodding the top of your arse, then your lower back it can be excruciating, but do it for a couple of minutes each and about 10 minutes later you feel your muscles relaxing and flushing fresh blood around I do that after these exercises - minute on each leg https://pso-rite.co.uk/blogs/benefits/sciataica-causes-treatment-exercises-and-symptoms do that 2/3 times a day, after walkign the dog and if I do exercise did two 5ks last week, first time since august and just done 10k, and feel as good as ever still bit stiff in the mornings, might get a new mattress

After a couple of weeks I went to a place in Farnworth for some physio and after the pain from him tormenting me I was fine. Don’t want it back though, it’s a right bastard. I’m 68 so I’m not going to get away with that.

January 25, 20233 yr I had it a few years back and a bloke at work told me to cut the back half of an insole off and put it in the shoe of the side that is giving you pain, the insole will raise your heel about 1/16 of an inch to relieve the pain, it worked for me
January 25, 20233 yr I am dreading old age, back pain is the worst imaginable when it involves your spinal nerves. I have a wonky back and have always known it will hit at some point, I am just awaiting the inevitable really.
January 25, 20233 yr When mine properly goes diazepam, co-codamol, tramadol don’t even touch the sides If I can do plenty of swimming every week I’m OK. Last week did 4 sessions, this week 3 so far. No twinges or owt. The weeks over Xmas/New Year were different. Simply reaching down to tie a shoelace or pick an empty shampoo bottle out of the shower I was on the floor with a horrific shooting pain that felt like I’d been stabbed. Thankfully didn’t go the full thing and I was OK after an hour or so. Finally knuckled down to do the exercises that the physio emailed me and they are really helping Although the physio disagrees @bolty58s spiky mat is a belter to lie on for an hour if it feels like the back might go again

My Neptunes Bed spiky thing has been great at keeping problems away. Fall asleep on the bugger these days for an hour or more. The endorphins it encourages are marvellous!

Spoke too soon. Leaned down to put a plate in the dishwasher last night. On the floor in an instant. No feeling in my left foot and feel like I’ve been stabbed all around the base of my back. Fuck me it hurts. Slipped disc/sciatica is an absolute bastard
January 28, 20233 yr Been there. Done that. Had the epidurals. Never ever listen to a doctor that says it will go away on its own in time. I now see a physio every week pretty much and it helps more than anything. It has to be hands on though so that you can get any other related muscle spasms to calm down. How many of you are based in Bolton? Someone could start sciatica anonymous.
