The 2020 USA Presidential election

The eve of the maddest show in the world

Two senior citizens battling it out to become the most powerful person in the world

The most decisive election in years, which no matter the outcome, the whole country is anticipating civil unrest.

Yes folks the loonies are well and truly out of the Asylum

Forget the polls, forget what you think will happen one thing for sure is it’s always unpredictable and I cannot wait

Buckle up Dorothy

Leicester won the PL

We’re re in division 4 10 years after being in the last 16 of Europe

Donald Trump is the president

I won’t believe Joe Biden is president until he’s walking down Pennsylvania Avenue in front of a motorcade and he’s not in his pyjamas

Anything can happen.

I bet social media is a bit more poisonous than usual right now.

Yup and probably because not many Trump supporting celebs pop their heads above the parapet it's mainly biden supporting folk copping flack from keyboard warriors.

Either a lot of trump support out there on the web or its a small but well coordinated group jumping on every election post out there

I can see Biden pissing the popular vote by a bigger margin than Hilary but getting an even bigger margin in New York and California won't matter if he doesn't win in the close states

thing is

he'll get his republican votes, just as Biden will get his democratic ones

it was those swing states which clinched it for Trump last time

now as much as I don't understand or trust Americans, for Trump to win, it's basically them saying "let's have 4 more years of this"

mental if he does, but it will be entertaining either way

especially if he loses and still has till the end of the year to leave a trail of destruction

Might get an early night and set the alarm for 3.00. Hope I don’t miss the best bits.

Some states allow for postal votes to be counted before election day, some on election day and some after the polls are closed, as every in the states there is always a mass of different rules for everything.

Same with the electoral college, some state give all their votes to the winner, some split the electoral college vote depending on votes won

Thanks, good to know

Doubt it very much, it could be several hours after that

I was in oz at the last us election and I remember Was about 6pm I’m sure when the result came through which would’ve been 9am ish Uk time

weren't it about 7.00am, I seem to remember me and missus getting ready for work and the telly was on, we had just got Brexit and Trump

When should we start to get an idea how it's going?

When Trump tweets

I can see quite a few thinking like that

Where do all the postal votes go?

Either way the result goes, i expect buildings potentially storing votes to burn down

When Florida comes in (3a.m.?). Trump has very little chance if he fails to win there.

Poll estimates like this saying an absolute landslide for Biden.

Texas and Ohio going blue, surely not

If he loses Texas I’ll be amazed.

His twitter feed would be box office

Electoral College meets on 14th December. Of course if it's 270v270.....

Russia set to announce the winner at 3am

A lot of the cities in the US are boarding up major city centres in anticipation of riots either way.

How bad is society and the world today that whomever wins we are expecting that?!

Humanity is definitely on the wrong path ATM

Tough call , living in a republican state and most of my friends are republicans, can't really say .... but all the polls are in Bidens favour ( and yea I know it was the same last time) but last time Trump slowly eat into Clinton's lead, this time Bidens lead in the polls as been constant for the last few months , read into that what you may.

The pollsters have also adjusted their models to take into account the mistakes they made last time. My mate is a Social Statistician at the University of Manchester, and he tried explaining it all to me a couple of weeks ago, but it went right over my head. It's extremely complicated. I'm still in the "fuck knows" camp.
