Completely forgot the camera was there. Luckily no ticket has ever arrived and too late now so luckily it wasn’t working. after my speed awareness course yesterday from an earlier speed awareness course I’ve just driven 230 miles without breaking 75mph on the motorway. Very proud of myself Is it a instant ban at 100mph ?

When I looked down I was doing 97 and that was 100 yards after the camera so it would have been a close call. Would have been a court job though and my car is registered to work so that most certainly wouldn’t have gone down well. So much so I had someone lined up to take the fall for me at a cost of 500 for 6 points but he wouldn’t take anymore than that if it came to it so I was fucked obviously if the plod are lurking on here I am only joking about it 😁

Maybe it's because I'm used to driving a caddy, that gives you all the road noise you'd expect with a van when you get to 80/90. My boss needed to use the van a few weeks ago so I had to use his e450 to go to a customer. Always a happy problem from my point of view. Where it goes to 4 lanes wide between St Peters way and M60, no traffic about, I looked down and I was doing 115mph, I shit meself as I would of sworn I was just doing 70/80. It blew my mind how quiet and easy it was doing it.

Quiet and doing about 2000 rpm at 95 in 9th gear 😀 even the electric cars are fast as fook. @Rudyyou got your Tesla now?

Back in the 70’s, I was travelling down Chorley Old Road after a night out at Cranberry Fair in Darwen. I was that pissed , I overtook a police car that immediately followed and then pulled me over. I was given a breathalyser and the Bobby looked and then looked again at it but it was negative. It was obvious that I was pissed but he had no choice but to let me go. I don’t know why but I was lucky. I could have killed someone. I never took that chance again.

Dimron
Problem is not about laws but enforcement. If I got pulled over by a traffic cop I would shake his hand (covid permitting)
MancWanderer
Worst car I ever had was a 3 Series Alpina BiTurbo Skittish as hell and attracted the worst of attention. Also undrivable in the wet Mrs Manc had hell in it from those of an Oldham persuasion as soon as they saw a blonde female (way too big for a midget btw) driving it. She used to be chased by young boys in Corsas with the blue neon lights with their tongues hanging out. Glad to get rid in the end

It was fucking awful. Soon as the mid range power kicked in, in the wet, the traction control kicked in, and the car would stutter on the motorway and drop you by 20/30mph in an instant. Dry weather it was a beast, but standing water killed it. Fine pootling about but on the motorway it was a horror. Too much power in the back end with almost slick low profile tyres on 19 inch rims. Turn off the traction control and it was like have a pikey sat on the boot shouting “scream if you want to go faster”. Badly thought out car imo Happily trundle around now in a GLC driving like a grandad
Site Supporter Winchester White Posted November 11, 2020 Site Supporter Share Posted November 11, 2020 I had a Merc C250 and that was tail happy in the wet if you weren't careful. It was completely useless in the snow.

Audi before that was exactly the same. 4 wheel drive essential now for me
