Are we going up?

The other day Rudy said we were 250-1 to win the league.

I put £10 on at 150-1.

Decent odds for a team on a roll.

  • Actually the new Bolton is go one up, miss 27 chances then defend for last 25 minutes potentially with 10 men and pretty certain with a non goal keeper in nets after Gilks injures himself knee sliding

Talk about a week being a long time in football.  With 10 minutes to go at Mansfield they were 2 pts above us with a game in hand, top of the form table and looking at play offs.  A week later we're 1

  • Still have every faith. Not even arsed we lost today. Had to lose somewhere and now is the right time to do it. I think Maddison needs a couple of starts.

If you seriously think we'll make the top 3, place the bet sooner rather than later.

Which betting site?

EDIT: Deposited 5 quid with Sky Bet and put it on Bolton to win the league outright, got 30 quid in free bets and put it on us to get automatic promotion, win the league and Spurs to win the Carabao Cup.

Fingers crossed they all come in

Them play-offs can fuck off, I dont need any more stress, let's get out of this shit league.

This.

Go up this year and there's a greater chance we can keep players like Afolayan and John and be a strong L1 outfit.

Port Vale are a great example of what could happen if we miss out.  They were on a great run last year before the pandemic curtailed the season.  Yesterday they looked like the poorest side we've seen all season.

Next Saturday looks massive...

Cheltenham v Salford
Cambridge v Forest Green
Tranmere v Exeter

Cheltenham v Salford - home win, Salford nit at the races, but will be in play offs
Cambridge v Forest Green - Draw
Tranmere v Exeter - Away win, Exeter better away from home

I don’t have the temperament for gambling

Cash out - If we dont go up, at least you will have some cash to start an Evatt out campaign. 👍

I wonder whether haing 3 players in our first XI ... Sarcevic, Isgrove* & Doyle ... who were promoted from this division only 12 months ago will help with the experience and nerves. I'm sure it can't hinder our efforts.

*ok, first XVII

Nerves won’t be a problem. Expectation might weigh heavy but there’s more than enough experience of promotions in our squad to cope

I ain't cashing out, if we win the league its 700, if not but we get Automatic promotion I will settle for 300.

Agreed.  We'd all take promotion any way it comes, but having an extra 3 weeks prep time before starting again in a higher division wouldn't go amiss.  The worst scenario is losing the 3 weeks and not going up.  If we win virtually every game and the others get more points fair enough, but it would be a waste not to get a big points total now that we've seen how relatively easy it is to win games in this league with the current squad.

Cheltenham's late winner and Cambridge coming back from 2 down along with other 'straight up' contenders winning meant yesterday's win was vital.
2 weeks ago I would have wanted top 2-3 to beat any of next 5 of 6 ( other than us) , now that is reversed any points top 3 drop are good.

I’m happy to finish off the teams below us for now. The number of h2h involving both ourselves and the others means it’s in our hands. Win enough games, there’s nothing anybody else can do about stopping us

In not so sure.

We dont play Cheltenham again, so can't have an effect directly on them and they're some way ahead and in form.

I'm beginning to think a more pragmatic approach might be needed- let Cheltenham win, and keep Salford well below us.

More confidence that we can pass the other two, and promotion is the aim.

Agreed, of the teams above us if I was betting on a team not dropping out of the top 3 it would be Cheltenham.  We should be aiming at Cambridge who looked average, and FGR who we play.

Too many twists & turns h2hs to come

Cheltenham/FGR & bolton top 3 don’t know what order

Tranmere will have a big say one way or another.

They play all the top sides: win them and they will likely go up, but would help us gain on the others.

Loose them and it opens it up for us to pass them.

If we win our next two games, especially FGR away then I will be hugely impressed and confident that we can challenge for top spot.

Missing out on the play offs at the very least would be very disappointing. I’d almost come to terms with us spending another season down here but after this run I hope to god we get out of this league first time of asking.

FGR have to go to Mansfield a week on Tuesday whereas we have a week off

Two tough away games then they have to face us first thing on Saturday, not ideal for them

That game being on Sky - I bet i-follow would have been quids in otherwise.  Could have been a league two record crowd that!  Would be interesting to compare our fee from Sky with how much we would have made from i-follow.  Obviously not every BW fan has Sky so will still be quite a few.  PS 2nd April Cheltenham v Tranmere on Sky 3pm

I think everyone needs to prepare for the run in, if results go a certain way there is a chance in a few games we could want Tranmere to win.

Just think people need to prepare mentally for that ! Fucking Skip rats

Don’t think it’s an option to buy on iFollow for a Sky game?

If it’s for the good of the Wanderers...

I may feel dirty as a result but I can shower.

I didn't realise that.  Not great if you've not got Sky and no chance to watch a big game, not as if going to pub is an option.
