  • Bloody cracking weather out there, shame we can’t be in the ground. Off to see my newborn son in hospital before I’m kicked out but be home for the match 2-0 Doyle brace

There's not many days this season I've thought I'd love to be going to the game. I'd love to be going today - the weather, the return of a feel good factor/optimism, and the match having a bit of

Twice now Doyle's anticipation in the box has failed him

Don’t know why he felt the need to control that.

He tried to control it when he should have shot first time.

Well their game plan is working so far, soak it up then try n pinch it

John and Dapo have had a really poor half, the left hand side should be our biggest asset but they’ve not turned up yet. Hope they pick it up in the second half.

we must have waisted 10 minuites fucking about in our own half

Last time we scored inJ the "home end" from open play was Port Vale and we were 6-2 down then.

Hopefully a change of ends does the trick, playing well.  John looks so comfortable on the ball.

Just instinct I think wasn't it. It looks shit but he's unsighted as it comes down so his foot isn't already up to volley it

He's not deliberately thought "ill control it" but he's not anticipated they miss it if that makes sense

At times we have looked decent but not as consistent as in previous games and they have looked to cause some problems on the break.

Doyle frustrating

barrow should be leading

it will come

Barrow have done a good job there. We just need to keep chipping away. See what happens after 60 mins.

Good point, it’s not just 1 team; they have come with a plan and done a good job

if they stay deep we need to bring our fullbacks into it more

Not panicking yet. Great save from Gilks but on the whole we’ve been the better side. Barrow have worked their nads off but they can’t keep up this tempo and discipline for the whole 90 minutes. Just got to make sure we take our chance when it comes.

How many chances does Doyle miss? He should have scored 20 already this season.

Its so frustrating and lots of the other todays games are going against us

That twice taken free kick 30 yards out was poor. Why do we insist on playing backwards ? We should be getting in their box from there. And don't give me that retaining possession bollocks. We should at least be getting the keepers gloves dirty.

We all see it differently.  Our best 2 attackers along with Sarcevic for me.  If Fonz or Arthur had played to the level of Doyle last 2.5 games they wouldn't be coming out for the 2nd half.  Relying on his scoring record currently.

We'll click into gear on about 60/70 minutes as usual.

Patience and subs will be the key here I think. 70% possession in our favour.

The caveat being they are camped in the final third, but our decision making or execution in the final third has been poor. Most culpable are Doyle and Sarcevic. That’s probably Doyle’s worst half, he didn’t hold it up effectively, use the ball well or create something from half-chances, but with somebody like Doyle that could change 2nd half. Sarcevic looks like a player who’s been out of the team for a month or so, hopefully he can improve or replace him 2nd half.

1-0 will be as good as 5-0.

Watching the replay I think the keeper got a slight touch on the cross so it is slightly behind him, but still could do better

Agreed, it's still a nailed on win, but we should be talking about how many will we get. Not when they will come.

Doyle does a lot more than you give him credit for. He's not just stood in the box waiting for it on a plate.

I was thinking its the best 45 minutes I've seen from Sarcevic all season.  Struggling to think of when he's played better.

Every fan in the land thinks that when their team are on a good run. Unfortunately, there's always another team doing their best to prevent it.

I know what he brings to the game if he's playing well, dropping deep, knitting play etc and generally trying to get involved.  All good stuff but last 2 or 3 games its not been coming off for him, I'm sure it can change, just that other players don't get the opportunity to play through a poor spell.
