Eight people, including six Asian women, were killed in shootings at three different businesses in Atlanta and Acworth, Georgia, on Tuesday, according to local police. A male suspect was arrested and charged with several counts of murder on Wednesday, police said. You can't speed up killing folk by the Government. If the US can't do it with their so called justice system why you think we can is beyond me.

And before anyone says it, it has been proven NOT to be a deterrent.

Due process, appeals and more recently lack of euthanasing drugs. Plus folk are starting to realise that the police can't always be trusted.

A counter-argument would therefore be that if the risk of the death penalty isn't a deterrent, then neither would a custodial sentence be.

Therefore the death penalty would be the most effective way of preventing re-offending.
