With Trump winning both houses, presidency (and popular vote), the whole GOP basically in his thrall (and scared of his passionate base), and following the supreme court's recent decision on presidential immunity ... is Trump now the most powerful US president in history?

I'm just looking forward to the retribution starting. "Nancy, oh Nancy..........".

Unfortunately, in contemporary politics, class, humilty and decency doesn't compare with a baying mob of virgins in red hats sat on "X" all night.

What an utterly predictable shit show today was. Fuck it. Roll on Stockport... or something.

 What dogshit. If he is proud of Harris and Walz he is easily fucking pleased. They really appealed to the American public eh?

It's a dog eat dog world this pal and will become more so as a burgeoning population strives to grab it's share of food and water. Only the strongest will survive. All these fluffy marshmallow world marigolds need to wake up and smell the coffee. 'Decency', 'humility' etc. are all noble values. Unfortunately they will need to fall by the wayside as the global problems increase. Harsh but true.

Voters around the world are slowly realising this. The era of strong leaders is well under way. Keir Starmtrooper won't make the cut. The future will see more Trumps, Orbans, Moravieckis, yes and even Putins, Kims and Jinpings coming along whether you like it or not. It will become an imperative (if it hasn't already) to have a strongman leading wherever you reside.

Unpalatable to plenty on here no doubt but reality has to set in sooner or later. The dawn of realisation can't come along at midday. It has to be now.

I don't work night shifts - and also I said I work nights.

Believe me as I keep saying I'm not 'ace' it just seem a few people on here - like the Shed 7 crew - have a cognitive dissonance about how they view other people's views.

And no, I'm not drunk - wish I was but just landed a really good contract with a big dance venue which is really good but also my ex's mum just died so the kids are all with us.

The former is surely a perfect example of relieving one's own CD.

We all do it though, at some point or other.

The very essence of why so many voted for Trump in one short post.

Not just in America, but in places in Europe, we are seeing a hardening of attitudes against such speech.

Trump comes across as a thoroughly horrible person, but continually making personal attacks just reaffirms voters'  thoughts, and will garner him more support.

Similarities to the brexit debate: how many traditional voters of the Labour Party voted out, and were pilloried as racist etc before a vote was cast, let alone afterwards.

There will be plenty of middle of the road people who are wavering either way; tell them they are thick/racist etc beforehand and they are likely to rail against it.

Donald Trump was working at 3am a couple of nights back.

Just saying an that

And there’s your difference. It really is that simple.

Accepting defeat, showing respect & moving on. That’s the traits that make someone a so called ‘strongman’ that Bolty was rambling on about in his latest incoherent rant.

Trump couldn’t even do the basics, and it’s no surprise to see posters on here now believing his rhetoric that it was stolen. You repeat a lie often enough ….

Obama’s statement is more reflective of the everyday Democrat, not some mad video of ‘Bob’ from the depths of Twitter. Blows my mind that people’s world view is shaped by X.

Also plenty of decent Republicans who will have voted Trump.

We don’t need ‘tough menI’ in a ‘dog eat dog world where we’re fighting over resources’.  We need to move away from fossil fuels & work together with global climate treaties. We need innovative technologies & skilled men & women to lead on them.

It’s Trumps views on climate change & his rollbacks of net zero targets that cause the most damage. Still time for public opinion to change, but it may well be too late.

Not sure those skint working class Germans living in poverty had any idea of the horrors that were about to unfold tbf.

No. I would have said "Achtung! Eintritt verboten fur zwanzig minuten".

Utterly different circumstances as well he knows. Ask a silly question, get a silly answer(and apparently, a silly 'liker').

Great attempt at deflection, but then wouldn’t expect any different.   No, it’s not silly, it’s the same.  You seem to aspire to live in a world where “strong leaders” (as per your list) are nothing more than intolerant bullies and/or fascists who gain power by blaming (and then persecuting) disadvantaged groups in society for common ills, whilst feathering their own nests. Weakness not strength.  Anyway, not wasting anymore of my time banging my head on this particular wall…..I’ll leave you to keep arguing the toss with everyone else.  Must be tough being in a minority of one.

 Well you'd know.

Happy not to waste any more time on the likes of you also. It appears that you live in a fantasy land devoid of reality. I have said nothing about intolerant bullies or fascists - coincidentally labels the Democrat loser tried to hang upon the victor in yet another attempt at character assassination and that worked for her did it not?

No doubt you will next roll out the 'r' word and all of the other virtue signaller staples.

Shirty Bertie playing dirty. It's like Halloween all over again :rolleyes2:
