Correct. Whilst also attributing the responsibility/blame for any disorder to someone else (the Met police), before it’s even happened.

I suspect that Suella / The Mail actually want disorder to happen. She can say she was right, it helps the Tories’ anti-immigration approach and it’s a vote winner with right wing support. Plus, they can attack the Met and Sadiq Khan ahead of the London Mayor elections in which they are trailing massively. The Daily Mail would have some headlines that play to their base, so they can sell a load more newspapers.

Spot on .
it’s ironic that if they did call the march  off , the people who’d be most disappointed would include some of those screaming for it to be cancelled.

this kick off is a fucking godsend for the tories taking attention away from the covid enquiry

id say they are pretty clever, but theyre actually thick as fuck as its plain as day what they are up to

😂😂😂 the covid inquiry is expected to go on for a few more years. 1 weekend is hardly going to take the attention away.

Reckon Suella be sacked soon. Should have resigned and then made her comments in the Times.

Not so sure: if no 10 approved the article as is being reported, then that doesn't suggest she's for the chop.

She's certainly stirring the pot, and going beyond, but I reckon it's a very deliberate ploy, not just by her.

Aye, seem to be some conflicting reports now.

Still, I don't see this as purely a push for a leadership bid by her, as plenty of her own party are against her behaviour, and she's not as good a performer in public as either of the main party leaders neither.

For me, there’s a definite attempt to distance themselves from the policing policy- even if Rishi isn't happy with her, he did say he'll hold Rowley to account- which I reckon is a means by which they will justify stronger measures, as we see in France and Germany, if it does kick off big time.

It also introduces some level of separation of between the two parties over the approach to the issue, as a political tool pre election.

Consequently no in terms of punishment

The Govt took the piss is all that is being heard, which is what is coming out in the inquiry, whatever the conclusion of the findings years down the line fine are irrelevant

You can't argue that's it's not damaging to the government today and people's thoughts leading up to an election

Pro Palestine mobs marching on 11/11 seems targeted to me, although I accept it’s a weekend.

I agree with Bravermans comments as a right wing march would be stopped.

Nothing will ever ever change in these countries unfortunately for the many innocent civilians caught up in it.

The NF march past the Cenotaph every year and have done for the past 50 odd years.

I think minds are already made up, if the polls are to be believed.

Not entirely, though on the pandemic issue, I reckon minds are made up. Whatever comes out now, won't make much of a difference.

Other, current issues are more likely to affect minds.

You think there won't be more people, who when they hear more, and whether it never affected them or not won't change their minds??

Really??

Do you believe the polls?

Interesting question. Don’t know. I have doubts around whether Tory voters would go to Labour, then there’s Brexit-related distrust of Starmer, along with immigration and the (current) dearth of policies.

The media seem to believe…..

It's not really an interesting question.

You could just give an opinion without trying to deflect
