Yep - 100% in agreement with you.

This is how the whole campaign should have been fought. And I doubt there would have been many dissenting voices on here had they operated like this throughout the campaign.

We’re agreeing! 🤗.  Yep root out the terrorists and show no mercy.

Whatever the numbers and whatever the causes I continue to struggle though with the reports of civilians being shot trying to get food to feed their families.

see, I knew they could be more precise and targetted when they want to be

like with the pagers

this is how it should be done

How would they have done that initially?

An army of Hamas fighters isn't simply going to wave a bunch of Israeli cement mixers through.

Indeed.

Nobody on here has an issue with precision attacks.

It's the wiping out of hundreds/thousands of innocents to get to one or two baddies that is wrong.

So the IDF have just announced to the world that they are capable of being more precise & careful.

Rather than indiscriminately killing innocents & ethnically cleansing entire areas.

And we’re supposed to applaud them?

alright then

I don't know. But then I'm a nurse in Bolton. They're clearly very skilled - and if they can manage to effectively decapitate Hezbollah using a load of pagers in an operation from a foreign country, then I'm pretty positive that they could have taken on Hamas using similar tactics and not killed the best part of a Reebok Stadium full of kids in the process.

Surely you’re bright enough to realise that every attack can’t be carried out that way?

When did we last wipe out as many innocents, with such regularity, as Israel are doing?  Genuine question.

IDK - But estimates put the number of civilians killed by allied troops in the first 7 years we were in Afghanistan at between somewhere between 5,700 and 6,500 civilian deaths.

For context.

13,807 between 2003 and 2011. Estimates are that coalition forces were responsible for around 12% of civilians deaths during that period.

Iraq Body Count had the figure at 9,207 between 2003 and 2005 which is when most of the coalition caused civilian deaths occured.

And when did we advocate for ethnic cleansing & deny an entire nation their right to sovereignty?

Unless RW wants go back to the empire days 😄

Course they can’t

Surely you’re bright enough to realise that the extremists currently running Israel have other agendas on top of just wiping out Hamas.

It’s simply got to a point where it’s indefensible. And the more folk try to defend (or in this case applaud them) , then dafter they look.

So we need to compare with other conflicts.

Then when it’s shown that Israel have caused far more destruction, in a much shorter period of time. The response is ‘it’s not a competition’.

New heights being reached today

I’m not here to defend Iraq & Afghanistan, but the last time I checked we weren’t denying these countries their right to exist. And we weren’t accused by the UN of genocide & ethnic cleansing. Neither did we implement aid blockades leading to severe malnutrition.

‘These things happen in war’ is a nonsense excuse for what is happening in Gaza & the West Bank.
