I’m not trying to defend the UK in these conflicts. I’m just pointing out the very obvious differences. We were never trying to force an entire population from their homeland permanently. It’s weird that you’re excusing it with obscure comparisons.

As for differences, I’ll tell you what the biggest difference is. Israel’s retaliated after Palestine invaded their country, killed over a thousand in the matter of hours, whilst taking hostages who have since been raped tortured and in some cases killed.

We invaded countries on the back of a lie! You’re expecting Israel to go in a lot harder against a real enemy.

As for the last two points - it’s an incredibly naive view of the history of this conflict. Israel have been denying Palestine the right to exist for decades. You can’t just focus in on Hamas’ brutal attack & ignore Israel’s role beforehand & throughout the West Bank. It’s simply not that black & white. There is widespread evidence of Israel invading Palestinian territory long before Hamas reared their ugly head.

Hmm.  It may not be official Israeli government policy, but hard to argue that some of the expressed views of the far right members of their cabinet sound very similar to the (Wikipedia) definition…..

Modern delivery systems are impressive... the warfare remains the same, it's all about blowing other people apart using explosives, red hot metal shards and 700 mph pieces of lead, that includes civilians who might just live in the vicinity and be starving hungry

Hamas’ goal is to destroy the state of Israel, so yes, hard to argue their murderous actions have/will always be genocidal and aspirationally for them tantamount to ethic cleansing. I don’t see how anyone can deny that.

I think the point being made here is that you could look at the current Israeli actions and words (from some of their cabinet) and draw the same conclusions.

I knew you were responding to Dazbob with the competition post. It was all part of a similar discussion on the thread so I put it in one post to Kent. Quite a weird thing to obsess over and accuse someone of lying about.

It was pointed out that the whatabout other conflicts doesn't really work in defending Israel. Then all you seem to have left is to go off on pointless arguments. Just express an opinion and move on ❤️

There is plenty of condemnation of Hamas in this thread. Plenty. 

As you say, it's folk constantly using Hamas to defend Israel. Both as bad as each other and both accused of war crimes by experts in the UN. There are arrest warrants out for leaders of both. 

Which is why I don't understand why it is still portrayed as Israel vs the baddies.
