Meanwhile in Israel

Is it kicking off big time or is this just everyday stuff they deal with or a bit of both?

You know nothing about my family, but i would say dont come to Farnworth and start being a big fat Australian around them.

Siccatorem capillorum vehor

As a Collier, I make no Farnworth apology.

Born and bred.

 The fucking childishness (not you - our 'my party' sensei).

Mortally wounded by a misplaced fat insult?

Still, I'd best be careful. Keffiyeh. Winklepickers. Farnworth. Even the twins would have been shitting themselves.

Must have been a midweek chardonnay soiree for the true believers?

Good to see Canada also propose a pathway to recognising Palestine, to put pressure on Israel to do the right thing.

Pretty much leaves the US isolated now in doing this.  The tinpot bully’s response?

"Wow! Canada has just announced that it is backing statehood for Palestine. That will make it very hard for us to make a Trade Deal with them. Oh’ Canada!!!"

Pathetic. Confirms their increasing lack of leadership and influence on the global stage.

Really?

Good to see they sent plenty of food in before they put a ban on hey.

Ahh of course.

Only a couple of months with no food

No harm done there then. Must be someone else’s fault 🙄

Of the 5 permanent members of the UN security council only the US doesn’t recognise or propose a pathway to recognise Palestine.

147/193 UN members already do, so with UK, France, Canada (& Malta) in September you’re looking at 151/193 or 78%.

There was plenty of food, the graph you posted clearly shows that. You do understand the graph don’t you?

So America aren’t isolated then. I thought as much. You still have the likes of Germany, Australia, Italy…….

Both UK and Canada’s recognition comes with conditions. If those conditions are/not met, they will/wont recognise a Palestinian State.
Hardly an endorsement and in the UK’s case, possible illegal under international law.

Well, I suspect this % will only increase in the next few weeks tbh. As I think/hope most folk have always said, a two state solution (without the evil of Hamas) is the only option for peace.  At least UK, France, Canada are trying to lead and create that pathway.

What’s the US administration’s vision for long term peace and Gaza’s future? Answers on a postcard…..

This.

A truly bizarre approach too.

Hamas have been refusing to agree to a ceasefire, so what on earth does Starmer expect to happen?

They simply won't.

It's nothing more than a sop to his MPs, in light of Corbyn, as it means jack shit.

Israel will be annoyed by it, but it won't make a difference.

The Arab's statement asking for Hamas to lay down its arms will carry far more punch.

It is possible I suppose, that this move could have quietly been sorted with Israel in advance, for our government's security etc, but I doubt that would be the case.

Last report I saw there wasn't much of Hamas left so doubt they'll carry much punch for much longer

Not sure what happens once they're out the way

Because that's not much of Gaza left by the sounds of it

Aye- particularly the bit that says “Israel did not allow any aid deliveries between March 2 and May 19”

Israel suspend aid deliveries - then more people become malnourished & start starving to death.

It really isn’t rocket science that the blame lies with Israel. And if you’re too daft to accept the obvious, then let’s stop arguing like a pair of fannies & boring everyone to death 👍

What does the graph that you posted show what happened in Jan and Feb?

That everyone was living the big life. Dining out at Hot Dog restaurants, so Israel decided they’d had enough food 🙄

Just read the article mate. It’s all there.

“Children are starving in Gaza today as a direct result of the Israeli government's decision four months ago to suspend all aid into the enclave.

While that decision has been partially reversed over the last two months, it's had devastating and ongoing implications for vulnerable Palestinian civilians in Gaza, aid groups report.”

You don’t think it’s their fault despite all the evidence it is. No point going round & round about it x

You’ve posted a graph, asked me to look at it whilst not understanding what it shows 🤦🏻

There are plenty, and plenty of outside support too.

Hence why local pressure should be more effective.

Ah I’m sorry

I thought it showed the blocking of civilian aid. Must have imagined that.

Even if it did , it’s fine because they sent in more in the months before 🙄

Definitely not Israel’s fault , blocking the aid definitely didn’t cause a famine 👍

Are we done now ? x
