As of today, all of Shenzhen is on a full 7 day lockdown  -  all businesses and factories have been forced to completely close, everybody must stay at home. All public transport is suspended. The local Government will review the situation again next weekend.

indeed, I've got just short of $90K worth of products that my customer needs, actually sat waiting to leave, they are at the airport, but they won't be allowed to get on a plane until next Sunday, at the earliest.

My contacts, tell me the situation is pretty bad out there at the minute. Shenzhen probably has about 20M people live there, and all of then confined to home for a week.......after 60 new cases were discovered yesterday. No fucking about, just immediate shutdown.

I've no idea, but economic impacts of this will be felt in China itself- all at a time when Vlad wants help.

Maybe they could send a special genetically modified version of the virus that will only nibble vlad himself. Do the world a favour.

From what I understand, and the information is fairly limited, it's a "different" strain of Omicron that they're getting their knickers in a twist about.

I was speaking to one of my contacts earlier and said it all seems a bit much for 60 cases.....he laughed and said that over the weekend, he had 45 positive tests in his factory, so I guess the 60 might be a tad under reported.

You're right about the economic impact this will have in China, it'll be massive, as so much stuff comes out of Shenzhen, already our other suppliers not based in Shenzhen are telling us they're going to have problems, as they get a large amount of their raw materials from Shenzhen
