I've just had an email back from Cambridge to say they have booked me a parking space directly off Newmarket Road at the front of the stadium

  • Thank god someone else said it. Football fans eh ? All these lads with a compass on their tops and they can only find their way to 'spoons.    https://footballgroundguide.com/leagues/engla

When i lived in Cambridge(shire) as a 20 year old in 1997/8 it was generally shit for a night out as everything shut at 11, so your best bet was to go to Newmarket for a night out

The main night club was De Niros and the pre club bar next door was Pacinos

Last time I did Cambridge away in 2000 FA Cup it was a local stop over in Norfolk (60 miles away)

So I've got fuck all pub advice

Anyway

Here I am celebrating our fa cup winner with eidur

Went in 91 lost 2-1 Tuesday night

They had a good win today, another tough game.

Early days yet, and a number of teams have a few points. Some time before everything starts to pan out I reckon.

If i head out drinking in Cambridge those are the pubs/areas i tend to venture as whilst the centre is ok it is usually rammed with tourists, bikes, tourists on bikes, people trying to get you on a punt and students. It can take 10 minutes longer just walking from the station to town with everyone stopping to take pictures of churches or university buildings. But they have got electric scooters you can now hire at the station and ride on the roads into town, nothing could possibly go wrong with that!

Mill Rd I found is the best area for pubs.

I dont that far out, about an hour away you are looking around Kettering area

If you wanted to drive a bit further and see some aligators with you breakfast this place is decent

About 30 minutes out from Cambridge and a little detour off the A14

If you're using the A1:

The Stadium Diner at Colsterworth is an "award winning truck stop"

Then further down north of Peterborough there's the Stibbington Diner truck stop

Both are proper transport cafes with proper breakfasts (I can vouch for both)

Can’t beat a transport cafe proper grub big portions decent price

and full of hooker killers

I really could do with a full English now. :)

Don't go into Colsterworth Services, drive past on the A151 Bourne Rd and the Stadium is just after the roundabout.

We extended the Colsterworth Services and used the Stadium Transport Cafe rather than the McDonalds/BurgerKing/Starbuck crap (although they were paying our Bill).

I'm no expert on the matter but just read there's no away fans car park. It might be worth hiring a space nearby rather than relying on street parking.

Great stuff,  glad you got sorted

Getting the train, is best bet Spoons in town and then a taxi to the ground ?

Nah, you can do better than that,

punt down the Cam, cocktails in Grantchester, personal rickshaw to the ground.
