Food / Delivery shortages

Covid?

Brexit?

Both?

I notice it’s taken McDonald’s to run out of milkshakes for it to actually cause people to lose their shit.

I read that 14,000 EU lorry drivers left jobs in the UK since brexit, and only 600 have returned.

Covid caused loss of tests to be cancelled.

Definitely. As a form of commuting into the cities, why not.

No slower than a drag in a car in rush hour.

WiFi enabled, breakfast available, bike carrying section, and straight into Manc or wherever.

Used to take me 90 mins at times on a damp, manky bus years ago.

A more spacious boat, with grub would have been far more preferable.

Think there is a canal boat commute service into Manchester from Worsley . There definitely was pre pandemic? Not sure if it’s survived or still going

I know he was joshing somewhat, but it's actually a sound idea.

Water taxis in other parts of the world, so why not.

Would take some investment, but if they're talking about building a tram line from Bolton...

Wasn't there a caveat that commercial vehicles took priority over private vehicles?

Taxis are commercial vehicles.

The majority of Bolton's taxi drivers are of South Asian extraction.

Typical case of white devils twisting things and playing the 'victim' and/or race card.

Anyhow, I know for a fact it's changed ownership several times in the intervening years.

I know 'they' all look alike, so easy to presume it's the same owners who, almost twenty years ago, followed Government guidelines on priority customers during that particular fuel crisis.

Never sure when you are being serious but taxis & private hire aren’t classed as commercial vehicles .

It would cost half a billion to get all the shopping trolleys out.

Mounts pontificates an awful lot about how things should be without any understanding whatsoever about what his “ideas” involve.

He genuinely thinks that just saying something will happen is enough, and every other fucker will put their shoulder to the wheel on his behalf.

”it’s done now so let’s get on with it” is a particular favourite.

If i go out and shoot someone to death, I could just say that it’s done, let’s put it all behind us. But there are consequences.

He doesn’t get it because it doesn’t affect his ability to go to the match or sit in the sunshine with a San Miguel.

Its proper narcissistic behaviour.

Travelling to an away game down the canal

I’ve mentioned canals before

We have a delivery network sat waiting to be used that is slow, but reliable.

Its madness that it isn’t used.

On a different note, job snobbery.

Surely all jobs are shit and so they aren't summat to be judging anyone by.

By shit I mean that you get one go at this and apart from Buddhist monks people would be doing summat else with their days rather than the job they do given the choice.

Is it not anals youve mentioned or am I just confused today?

Surprised my fellow Europeans on here haven’t mentioned the election of a new Chancellor in Germany. Shame on you all.

Maybe because one hasn’t been elected as yet…?

My brother has a drone think it’s to perv or drug deal, anyways he needed something to attach his go pro camera on. Had a look on some forums and he said some drones can carry 200kg of weight. Not even operated by someone on the ground, literally put in coordinates into it and off it goes.
I’ve since found out that Amazon have started trialing 30minute drone deliveries.
The technology is there.

You're right, they weren't advised to give vehicles engaged in commercial activity priority.

They were actually just being reverse-racists like BB and TMGJ wrote.

Serving only fellow p*kis and turning away whitey...

Semantics.

National and Local governance ordained taxis to be greater importance than vehicles used for domestic errands and even getting to and from regular work.

I think a 20% increase in salary for truck drivers will cover inflation at 3%. Interest rates going no where, fix your rates if you think they are. Loon.

Because kids these days don't want to be canal dredgers...

Besides, I saw an episode of P.D.W. (Post Dennis Waterman) 'Minder' about six times, and it took Arthur and nephew/minder Ray almost two days to deliver a consignment of VCRs across London via canal barge, and they all fell off into the canal when they crashed upon their final arrival at the destination.

Inefficient.

If I was part of a terrorist organisation, I'd be looking into that. The perfect way to do huge amounts of damage

Chill . Didn’t say that.  Just pointing out taxis aren’t classed as commercial vehicles .

may have been granted dispensation as you state and I could see why but they’re not classed as commercial vehicles.

I’m going to develop the technology myself and sell it to the highest bidder, Amazon, Tesco Taliban I don’t care

I am chilled.

Be even more so after the sham White Russian I'm about to mix and drink.

Made with Bailey's, a proper one is made with Kahlua or Sheridans...

I wasn't under the impression they (the adverts) were the brainchild of Colonel Blimp.

Since when have mullets been in 'fashion again', I was a 'hair-model' in the early noughties for a free cut, they gave me a 'Caesar' cut and left a tiny mullet, the girls seemed to like it, I thought I looked like I should be working on The Waltzers. I'm picturing loads of weasels (at 'the agency') trying to look all 'Praise You' Spike Jonze, poring over minutiae such as where your typical ad recruit would be from..."Everybody likes Geordies, surely? How about Blyth? I think that footballer played there, Gary Shearee or something, our demos dads probably never shut up about him..."

I'm also amused by the reversal of usual trend following patterns regarding New Balance, Northeners thought they were the dog's bollocks ten years ago, nowadays they're considered dog shit.

After the Revolution, mandatory redeployment will take place, those in advertising/marketing will clear landmines - those perverted talentless twats who did the Recruitment campaign(s) will be the vanguard of Ordinance/Landmine Removal Department #001, they will do it barehanded until we can rustle up some kit - they're extremely dispensable, so no great loss if they get blown into smithereens and each smithereen is blown into smithereens making a proper burial or cremation impossible.

I know, it's an age old slight. Couldn't give a fuck to be honest. The reason I like my job is trying to convince someone to do pay for something.

Couldn't give a flying. I'm.not sure you're right about NB - they come and go out of fashion at certain points wherever you are, they've just struck a chord at the moment- you'll find a few in the Northern Quarter, saw loads in Durham last weekend (not on students, mind)

Non perishable goods are perfect and it would actually take a huge amount of freights off our congested roads.
