Food / Delivery shortages

Covid?

Brexit?

Both?

I notice it’s taken McDonald’s to run out of milkshakes for it to actually cause people to lose their shit.

I read that 14,000 EU lorry drivers left jobs in the UK since brexit, and only 600 have returned.

Covid caused loss of tests to be cancelled.

I don’t actually perceive I will struggle to fill up again anyway on my way down Tbh (famous last words)

Ha! I hope you're right pal.  Like Mr Grey, coming back on Saturday i passed a couple of places that had diesel left but ploughed on thinking I'd fill up later.  Display says ive got 30 miles left in there.  I need to do 40 miles tomorrow for work!

Filled up last friday

First time for about 2 months ive put any in

Dont need it til tomorrow and normally id have waited til today or tomorrow

If i had, maybe id be fucked

Canned my trip to Leith this week as couldn’t be sure I’d be able to get enough to get there and back (sorry pal just realised I never sent you a message) as there’s fuck all fuel round me in East Manc. Had enough to get me to Newcastle today and I’ll have enough to get to Stockport on Thursday for an MOT. Then I’ll be on fumes

Decided to play safe on the way up. Hartshead Moor services - rammed, no chance of less than an hour’s wait. Wetherby services - queuing on the slip road off the A1. Finally got some at Washington but limited. I’d check if you can before you set off

Wetherby?

We pulled in there northbound on saturday

Fuel was fine but there mustve been reports of shortages of greggs sausage and bacon baguettes

Looked like good half hour queues

My motor is petrol hence my more relaxed attitude. I stopped at a Morrison’s on way back from Sunderland Saturday and they had everything and no queue maybe should. Have filled up then but even then I still wouldn’t have had enough to do my return journey this week.

Nice services but never, ever quiet. The rest on the A1/M1 north of Leeds are shit so everyone stops there. 3 Costas shows you the footfall in that place

Watched a doc on greggs last week

Turnover fractionally below mcds putting them second in fast food sales

I have to go to Leicester and Stoke tomorrow, half a tank I’ve got , if I don’t see any on the way down I will be filling up with “ Cherry B “ from the site to make sure I get back.

Do you have to go? Like really. If this was end of march 2020 would you have picked up the phone instead?

Just saying.

Don't risk breaking down in Stoke for a fucking phone call.

We know this, but sadly there is a shortage at the pumps, that’s a fact and thats news which is why the media are reporting it. We wouldn’t be in this position if we didn’t have a nation of greedy selfish cockwombles

Of course they're reporting it. Just as they were reporting a shortage of tanker drivers, which was grossly overplayed.

Idiots react and the whole thing becomes self fulfilling.

Yeh have to go unfortunately. I would have been there March 2020 too if  same task was required .
I won’t break down as I will be coming back on red diesel if I can’t get any on the way down, I won’t risk travelling back up from Leicester without adding fuel .

If you haven't got 6 years in industry to back it up it ain't worth a wank... I really hope someone remembers this from the takeover admin thread.

I'd been a manager for 12 years at that point and the company paid all my fees, I went for 3 promotions but didn't get them, I was made redundant the year after, so much for being groomed for the big time

Ha. Same here. Occasionally a takeaway brew from Washington, often a £40 dent in my wallet at Tebay

Wouldn't put it past the cunts.

No way I'm putting E 10 in my car. My mates new maxda broke down twice since the change! 🤣 🤣 🤣

I've just been brutally ass raped at Rivington services but ive filled up and at least i can go to work tomorrow.  No queues or limits there if anyones struggling.

Those E Europeans are falling all over the place to get a 3 months visa over here. Not.

Because he's been putting shit petrol in it. Its less than 3 years old. Broke down twice in the last few weeks.

I've got a golf on its arse. Put nowt but E5 in since I bought it. Barring a fucking break pad pinging off in crewe on the way home from Burton away in 2017 its been indestructible.

Watered down petrol. 😂

What could go wrong.
