Food / Delivery shortages

Covid?

Brexit?

Both?

I notice it’s taken McDonald’s to run out of milkshakes for it to actually cause people to lose their shit.

I read that 14,000 EU lorry drivers left jobs in the UK since brexit, and only 600 have returned.

Covid caused loss of tests to be cancelled.

2 things from reading the last few pages.

1. Tebay services is fucking ace. Great butchers & cafe

2. £25-30 limiting is a good idea, far better than some getting some and some not.

I had a 6 diesel that needed a new engine

3 years, 57k

But I'd always believed they were as good as owt

Was on fumes yesterday after Sunderland, went to BP and nothing doing

Had a mild panic (ie muttering FFS repeatedly) in terms of wondering where to go that might be open and if not would i breakdown due to being empty

Queued for ten minutes at Sainsbury's

Filled up the tank, 50 litres, not because of panic, because i always do, can't be doing with £10 here, £10 there

Will last ages

Am sure next time i fill up it will be back to normal

Not right now it seems

I'm a drive until at half way, and then fill it right up, always have been. I think it's just because of work, and if I'm on an early start, especially in winter, I don't like to have to fuck about filling up. I rarely drop below half full.

I think it is better to do it this way as you don’t let sludge from the bottom of the tank go into the engine.

I've been in the petrol queue for hours, eventually it was my turn at the pumps, I got so emotional. I started to fill up.

That’s my point. If I’m at the local petrol station I’m buying 40 ltrs. If they’re limiting to 30 ltrs then I’m riding around with 3/4 of a tank.

There is an argument that driving with a full tank makes the car less efficient as it is so much heavier. I went on a speed awareness course and it got distracted into a debate on this that got quite heated

I wonder if speed awareness courses are struggling to fill the required four hours with meaningful speed awareness info.

I did one and the heated debate was whether opening windows during a hot spell or turning on the A/C was best for petrol consumption.

Apparently, the difference in drag caused by opening windows is dependent on the type of vehicle. If you ride around in a sleek sports car it’ll make a bigger %age difference whereas driving around in a fucking big Range Rover, not that big a difference as it is already on a comparatively high drag factor.

I’ll try not to get myself on another speed awareness course.

Maybe that’s why they introduce these unrelated topics, to make sure you think twice about reoffending.

Went to the shop last night and there's a shortage on fruit flavour Rennies.

To be fair on ours the guy taking the course said; 'This is an interesting debate which I am happy to carry on, but it does mean we might over run slightly rather than finish early' which stopped the debate.

A bloke on the same course at the end when asked what he thought of the course said 'I still think the speed limit is too low'

Depends where it’s located and what type of drive it is

Old BMW’s used to have a dot on the fuel gauge which told you the ideal level to fill it at for maximum performance.

Drove to work on my route#2 in a nice sedate way and the car reckoned I'd got 52.4mpg on the journey.

I'm not a car person at all so has the vehicle just made that up to make me feel better or is it going to be semi-accurate these days ?

Filled up the wife’s car and put 1/2 tank in mine today, looks like shortages short lived.

The sheeple have run out of cars and jerrycans to fill up. Now it’s the turn of the old duffers who a scared of everyone having fuel except themselves.

in reality, it was only going to last 3 or 4 days, still a bit of a ball ache, but the panic should now be over. I think we can put the blame down for this recent few days of madness down to our lovely media, who have created a frenzy for no reason at all.

Full tank now. Went up to local petrol station and no issue at all. Jobs a good un

Only one locally I saw today with any.

In the village, and a price of 148.9 for diesel.

I turned in, waited for 30 seconds, and decided I wasn't waiting to overpay for 10 ltrs of unleaded.

I'll wait.

134.9 for unleaded and 138.9 for diesel at one I went to. I always go to tesco for the Clubcard points but in current climate saw he had fuel and went in. Said he had 24000 liters of unleaded in the tank

To be fair, he's the only one I've seen doing it.
