Food / Delivery shortages

Covid?

Brexit?

Both?

I notice it’s taken McDonald’s to run out of milkshakes for it to actually cause people to lose their shit.

I read that 14,000 EU lorry drivers left jobs in the UK since brexit, and only 600 have returned.

Covid caused loss of tests to be cancelled.

The pandemic is certainly a factor.

But 13,000 Eu drivers leaving these shores is possibly having an effect too.

The shortages haven’t started yet, by the way.

13k leaving has a lot to do with the pandemic

They also could have stayed. Not that it’s important of course that fact.

My understanding is the furlough scheme in that industry left them with little choice but I’m no expert on the matter.

It’s many contributing factors in all likelihood eh. but I’ve realized quickly why I took a hiatus from posting on here or reading certain threads 🙄

until I cant get essential goods then I will let the moaners moan pal. To be fair the water shortages, medicines etc can’t be far away as predicted by some On here.

They'll do what they always do, have a Cobra meeting and then bring in what remains of the army to drive the lorries.

Christmas cancelled because of Europe will be a big bonus for Mr Johnson.

Our motorways used to be chocker with EU lorries with EU drivers delivering goods to our logistic hubs for our supermarkets and major retailers.

There are nowhere near as many now bothering as they don't want the hassle of crossing into the UK any more, and that is before the full checks are actually implemented later this year I think. Of course Covid has had a major impact so it isn't all clear cut but I think both are contributing to this.

We're doing our best to catch up with Bolton.

No shortages of deliveries reported in Ireland, no shortage of labour ,no empty shelves or shortage of milkshakes in McDonald’. Ireland is also an island off the continent, also recovering from the effects  of the pandemic but is in the EU …

not saying it’s solely brexit but it’s not helping

I’ll let you know when the meds are likely to run short so that you can change you’re obviously unreasonable stance. Could be a while

I'll also let you know when Mrs Manc is reporting problems regarding inbound goods in logistics just so that you can go into the meltdown that is required

good idea, the driver will be in Dover whilst the back of his trailer is just passing Cobham services. What could go wrong?

Outback Truckers: England

Aussie road train drivers plough through tailbacks on British motorways so they can get egg butties to Wetherspoons up and down the land.
