There’s probably 2 ways to address online abuse. Ignore/accept it or come off social media.

It’s getting worse and it ain’t going away

Theres at least one other

Track down the scum and chuck em in the volcano

On the previous page your solution was for either (a) the victims to accept the racism or (b) the victims to come off social media.

I didn’t say that was a solution. I think that’s the best way of addressing it. And like I said on the comment you replied to, I can’t see anyway of it stopping.

Congratulations on winning the virtue-signalling award for today. I'm sure you feel such pride in your heart now having stood on the mountain top and bellowed out to the world about your purety.

I would imagine everybody on here would be appalled about Elias Kachunga or any other person being racially abused whether by some moron on social media or in any other setting. Doesn't mean we all set out each morning to zealously prove our non-racist attitudes by hectoring and lecturing others at every opportunity and jumping on every bandwagon going. You prove you're not a racist by not saying and doing racist things in your everyday life.

Being unsupportive of taking the knee does not mean someone is racist.... except of course in the simple minds of the vindictively woke, who are always on the lookout to massage their own vanity by making grand public gestures as to their untouchable virtue. As well of course as seeking to make out that the whole population is irredeemably racist apart from the chosen few in their sainted glory.

If someone is virtue signalling if they post 5 or 6 lines about one of our players get abused what is it if someone then posts a reply 3 or 4 times longer accusing them of virtue signalling ?

So the players decided to take a knee because of racism when at a time no fans were allowed in the ground and there were hardly any reports of online racism? (It also happened to be 3 weeks after his death, quite a coincidence).

As referee Michael Oliver sounded the first whistle in the English game for 100 days, players and staff from Sheffield United and Aston Villa, as well as the match officials, knelt on one knee for eight seconds – one for each minute that black American George Floyd was fatally strangled by a police officer in a tragic incident in May.

This show of support for the Black Lives Matter movement was later emulated by Manchester City and Arsenal at the Etihad Stadium and is likely to be repeated this weekend by the 16 Premier League clubs yet to resume their season.

Now it has emerged that Sheffield United striker David McGoldrick was the driving force behind bringing the gesture to English football.

People were still watching when there was nobody in the ground, and the PLAYERS themselves have told you why they're doing it. So you're either calling them liars, or you disagree with it on a false premise which just happens to suit your own narrative.

I wish one of you would just asmit you think the players, manager, and owner are all lying, instead of dancing around on the head of a pin.

Someones created an anonymous account.

That's pretty clearly premeditated that they were upto no good.

I would be surprised if it's one of our own. Not impossible.

When it comes to boneheaded trolling on social media - its something you're average "Tic" has been noted for. over the years. We also know Sheff Weds fans were negative about him when he joined us. If the police do find the perpetrator I'd have an each way bet on one of those two scenarios ..... in the fervent hope its not a Bolton fan.

There lies the problem. Are the social media platforms recording the personal details of all users? In fact does WW?
No one yet knows the details of the racial abuse. It could be some kid upset that we didn’t beat Burton or some serial racist.

Take away the anonymity and take away the vast majority of online abuse.

Not one of them mentioned all the reasons they kneel for now when they first started kneeling.

I see ... I'm virtue signalling by being anti-virtue signalling and this is all quantifiable by the word count?

If your challenge is to be more concise then I take it on the chin and will attempt to do better in future.

Maybe they thought it was obvious (as it was to most)... But anyway, they have now, so why do you still have a problem with it? Or do you think they're lying?

Yep, moderators have chucked folks off here in the last few years for being racist/overtly abusive.

Let's say, for the purposes of moving on, they realised BLM wasn't a good cause to get behind and decided to take the knee in a gesture against discrimination

They then tell everybody who listens that it's nowt to do with Marxism, nowt to do with defending the police and is purely and simply a gesture to show their stance on discrimination

Once we reach that point, why would anybody boo, unless they think our footballers actually are cop defunding Marxists, at which point they are calling SB a liar

It was obvious it was in support of BLM.

Phil Mason, Head of the Bolton Wanderers Community Trust, and his team are committed to unlocking the potential of individuals who have endured adversity as a consequence of the lockdown.

Phil said: “With Premier League matches returning after a three-month break, we can see how the power of football has once again grabbed the attention of society to make a real positive impact.

“We only have to see the action made of taking a knee in support of the Black Lives Matters movement”

This was from June 2020. Maybe they was telling the truth in the beginning and lying now. Interesting how Brentford thought it was pointless after a few games last year then when they get promoted they start doing it again (nothing to do with the money men hey)

Because kneeling will always be associated with that. You could literally pick any other stance and it would be respected (well I would say by 99%)

The mods have a tough job but usually get it right. My point was, do they know who they Chuck off? Do they know the personal details of every poster?

The day will and has to come where anyone posting on a social media platform will have to do it without anonymity.

You can keep quoting individual opinions from the early days of it, but everyone at the club has clarified since then that the gesture is purely 'anti-racism'. If you think they're lying or there's more to it, it would be nice if you'd explain it.

Maybe we should sign off with our real names for the next month?

We all know that’s why they say they’re doing it now. But we all know why it started off (which was my initial comment) and fans will remember that and many don’t agree with it.

Nope, we have enough info to track people down if we had to unless you went through a VPN. Such stuff is probably beyond the average knuckledragger.

So you think all our players, our management team, and our owners are lying. We got there in the end.
