Worst Airport

Now, this isn't my nomination, but Manchester has gone to shite.

Understandable queues, but half the bars are shut, with 40 mins wait for drinks, after queuing 10 for a table. Burger King (two hungry kids) overran with scutters and discarded chips, only coke left. A few high streets shops shut... Beyond security is almost as bad as getting through.

Manchester is abysmal but Stansted takes the crown

Got there before I did! 😁

Goa domestic terminal for me. Think Bolton bus station in 40 degree heat but for planes.

Derry is basically a conservatory on a landing strip too. Passport control is some guy who says "get in" at the mere flash of a passport! 🤣

Its all about opinion, but I flew from & back into Manchester T2 a month ago and I thought that it was excellent. The refurb is fantastic IMO

Why bother at the moment ? Let things settle down and go abroad next year

Flew out of terminal one Monday at manchester, worst airport by a long way and I’ve been plenty.

I'm not that well travelled but fucking hell

I've been to plenty worse than Manchester

Oddballs on here

Malaga is probably the worst airport I’ve been, Gibraltar easily the best, well organised and customer focused, efficient at boarding.

Cant say I like the HMRC at Manchester, they know how to spoil a weekend away 😂

HMRC? Do they check your tax returns as you’re going on holiday?

The Government agency checking in and outs is Border Force.

Maybe he meant the people checking bags and confiscating excess amounts of duty free. They're customs and excise people which is HMRC's realm

yes, them are the swines

Manchester has been all but fucking closed for over a year.

The whole industry is just about dragging itself off its arse.

If you don’t like it, pay for a private jet.

Theres some right entitled pricks about at times.

Hughada airport in egypt..not that its the worst but it was €9 a pint robbing f###ers

Agree with above about goa and to make it worse it cost just over £7 for a can of kingfisher because i paid with card and got ripped off with exchange rates

I've been to a good few & worked at Heathrow, Manchester, Stansted & Gatwick.

The one I dread is arriving back at Liverpool. The Scousers simply LOVE fckg the passengers around and truly don't give a fck.

The Teesside one was a laugh. A bus station with a runway. A number of smaller Greek island ones are similar, but warmer and drier

I would once have said Tel Aviv which, for years was basically an empty Kwik Save with interminal (see what I did there ?). I then didn't go for a few years & on my return it was a Goddamn palace. I also had VIP clearance and swept past those horrific queues. That didn't have give me a smug feeling.

Manchester Airport is a blooming strange place. Possibly the worst working experience of my lives. Utterly dominated by aggressively career-minded females who'd step on their own grannies to progress.

It's owned by the various councils of Greater Manchestet and decision making gets lost in that. But that's all behind the scenes. On the actual customer experience I saw it as quite competent but variable. The upgrade of T2 was enormous & too slow & disruptive to customers. tbh it gained from the Covid impact. It could be completed without all those pesky customers getting in the way. I've not been since then but there are far worse.

The biggest issues at Heathrow are its sheer scale and a bunch of game-playing Unions who block anything they fancy blocking. The current hours & hours of queues to re-enter is precisely that. The Border Force is an incompetent and infiltrated body who have absolutely no intention of operating smoothly.

I guess you have to differentiate between small regional and international airports. If you’re talking international, Manchester is low on the list.

For me it’s all about transition, not the shops and bars. Going through security and getting to and from the aircraft at Manc is poor compared with most of the places I’ve been to.

I prefer the smaller regional airports, in and out quickly, Exeter is a favourite and has decent restaurant, Girona & the old Murcia airports are very basic but takes 5 minutes to pass through. Small is beautiful.

Exeter is really good. My favourite airport is Ko Samui though. It's like a golf course with a runway!

Limoges is the best airport in the world, for the record.

Recently travelled through Modlin airport in Poland, excellent place
