radcliffe white Posted November 16, 2021 Posted November 16, 2021 Still tickets available according to social media is this Stockports usual procedure with the adult & kid ticket? Like I said other day this fixture will be mainly lads it’s utter tosh Quote

As above, I think the theory is that Stockport will have to make sure it's truly a 'family stand' on entrance as part of their safety certificate Quote
DazBob Posted November 16, 2021 Posted November 16, 2021 Why should any dad and lad (or daughter) have to sit in a sanitised shared stand, just so a couple of 'lads' can have their tickets in the away end?? What a load of bollocks. The way I see it is this shared stand option is just a bonus extra allocation of tickets - where Stockport are allowing Bolton fans in as long as as it's with a child or an old duffer. I think it's decent of Stockport. As always though, we have fans who just like to moan about stuff. Quote

It’s not moaning but it’s obviously effected our sales & Stockports like I said it was always going to be a game with hardly any juniors Quote
Casino Posted November 16, 2021 Posted November 16, 2021 Fwiw, my dad would've taken me to this game from about 8 years old And he would've taken me in the family bit Quote

Nobody should be forced to sit in a shared family stand rather than sit in the allocated away end, just so we can sell more tickets to 'lads'. For example, if I was going to go with my Dad, should we have to sit in the shared stand so that you and one of your mates can go in the Bolton end? Quote

If so, the clue is in the name. We have an allocation for the allocated away end and we have an allocation for a family stand. ..Or, genuine question, am I missing something here? Quote

I get the family stand bit so please don’t patronise me however we have been to plenty of grounds in the past with family stand allocations but not restricted on sale of adult & kid/Oap But that’s Stockports call eh Quote
DazBob Posted November 16, 2021 Posted November 16, 2021 Just now, Mr Grey said: Irrelevant or not, who wants to sit in a shared family stand, not for me thanks, it's on a par with Fulham's Neutral end. Probably quite a few who want to take a young 'un or an old 'un. But it is what it is, a shared/family stand. Not sure why anyone is struggling with this. I always thought the shared stand at Fulham was a bit weird, just couldn't imagine it anywhere else as you'd expect it to kick off in there every week ... but that's a sad indictment of football in itself. Do you still have it or did they get shut of it a few years back? Quote

It was a genuine question (hence me stating that) in case there was something I was missing about the setup of it. You're right, it IS Stockport's call. They obviously want their family stand to be families only. Most other clubs wouldn't offer that, they'd give us an allocated away end and that's it. The way I see it they're giving us another option to enable more fans to go, so I see it as a half full rather than half empty glass. Quote
Leyther_Matt Posted November 16, 2021 Posted November 16, 2021 It isn’t shared in as much as you’ll be sat next to a Stockport fan, it’s just they’ve got shared entrances and concourses Quote
L/H White Posted November 16, 2021 Posted November 16, 2021 I've potentially a spare for tomorrow, would anyone be interested? its in the proper bit Quote

I don't think anyone is struggling with it, it's just a strange set-up, when tickets went on sale, someone did say off here that 600+ of our allocation are in that shared family stand, anyway I'm behind the goal with the adults. It's the orphans i feel sorry for 😃 Plus the AHM in attendance with their carers Quote
bolton va va Posted November 16, 2021 Posted November 16, 2021 It will be a mess tomorrow if we finish up with women & children taking up the tickets for behind the goal ( with the accompanying " can you sit down, there's kiddies here" or "can you mind your language, there's women here " ) but empty seats in the family stand that Bolton fans without kids in tow can't buy. That's where we should have had a visionary in the ticket office so I could have gone leaving it last minute... but we didn't. So I'm not. BBC2 is where its at. Fuck em Quote

And as most non league/league 2 grounds don't hold 10k, is this the first time one of our FA Cup 1st or 2nd rounds has sold out? Happy to be put right. Quite right to put in the proviso about in our lifetimes. The current system of byes to the third round proper came in for 1925-26. Until then top tier teams joined at the first round proper. BWFC's last round one appearance in this format was on 10/01/1925, home against league champions Huddersfield Town. The attendance was 50,412 for a 3-0 win. The second round replay (0-1 against Spurs) was the only blot on a home winning streak comprising 17 successive home league games from the start of October to the end of the season plus the Huddersfield tie. Good info, I didn't know that about playing first round upto 1925-26. Yes, the our lifetimes bit was based on thinking that 1st round games weren't necessary for us in the 50s and 60s if I'm not mistaken. Then just a couple of seasons in the early 70s, then about 10 years from 1983-93. No more 1st round till about 5 years ago. For interest, and I've already been corrected once or twice, here's another similar game I hadn't thought about, in 2nd round rather than 1st: Rossendale "away" in 71-72, played at Gigg Lane. Attendance 12,100, not sure how close that was to being full. Quote
