Yorkshire County Cricket Club

They seem to have got themselves into a bit of a pickle. The daft racist cunts.

It is a shame. Wait until it’s proven before dropping him but that’s the way these days. Having said that, I listen to TMS a lot and he does seem to be patronising to the female cricket commentators. (Who I think are great by the way) Expect a sexism accusation next.

We’ve had countless Asians play at every level in this country, and not once - not once - have I or anyone who follows the game heard even a slightly racist comment.

There is a lot of banter around different styles on display by lads with Asian backgrounds. Pakistani lads tend to be ultra aggressive, the Indians never stop chirruping, Sri Lankan’s likewise.

The sledging is often country based, but it’s never of a racist nature. It’s like saying to a Scottish lad that he probably enjoys tossing a haggis or a Dutch lad would be good at rolling a joint. It’s cultural banter that is actually healthy and shows tolerance to the diversity present in the game.

This is a shitshow and someone like Vaughan, I’m telling you now, is not a fucking racist. Ask Nassar Hussain.

I get all that.

But it’s the dullest fucking thing 10 blokes can do together.

You wank over NFL

Kick catch

No other sport is as boring except Rugby Union

If any one group of people have a case to scream “racism”, it’s our Australian cousins. We call them some proper names.

But it’s taken in the right spirit. The cunts.

Pakistanis can be cunts. They’ve always got big noses and I’ve played years back and mentioned that. In return, they called me a sickeningly handsome white bastard. We shook hands after and everyone smiled.

Indians are the nicest lads you’ll meet, but when one of them smacks you for 6 you’ll try and distract him by doing an impression of Vishnu and reminding him that Indians are culturally famed for having very small widgies.

Then he smacks you for another 6 and he’s shoved it right back up your arse.

It can fuck off all this.

I've thought his tone occasionally patronising on the radio towards women too. However he's always polite, asks their opinions and I've not heard of anyone/colleagues unhappy with him, so perhaps it's just his manner and he's not actually that way inclined.

As usual, and the word has been used several times thus far in this thread.....anytime anything unsavoury is said, folk will claim its just "banter" and then promptly suggest people just need to get over it.

And as usual, people on here, will straight away take the accusers side of the story.

I’ve got experience of cricket at grass roots, a few have on here.

Clearly, someone has overstepped the mark at Yorkshire

the problem now is the gathering mob who will misconstrue everything as it turns into a virtuous pissing contest.

Lads chanting at a Jew on a plane about his foreskin is blatant racist goading.

Cricketers taking the piss out of each other within acceptable and inoffensive boundaries is nothing like the same.

The telling bit for me so far in all of this is he went back for a 2nd spell.... Tends to suggest he wasn't too unhappy the 1st time.

That's does suggest that he wasn't too upset initially.

Anyway, give it about 24/48 hours, and there will be similar tales coming out from pretty much every county side

If you were asked to guess which county was accused of racism, who wouldn’t have guessed Yorkshire?

It's in the paper that Yorkshire are considering bringing back their chief exec of 20 years ago to lead them through this

He was the guy who apologised "if" any offence had been caused about Yorkshire's Lehmann calling a Sri Lankan a "black c..,"

They  still don't really get it

Equally, it suggests he didn't want his dreams shattered by vile racists

Why should he be forced out by scum

Suppose it depends whether you think he should man up or whether you prefer he speak up

Agnew was on BBC this morning and i thought it was notable he didn't speak out in support of Vaughan but chose to share a conversation he had yesterday with a black ex cricketer who was in tears

I think it's naive to believe he went back if his first spell was as bad as being made out to be. I'm not saying that he hasn't been on the end of racist abuse but something just doesn't add up. Wouldn't be surprised if there is someone with an agenda advising him.... and until Vaughan is found guilty of anything he should be allowed to continue in his job.

I doubt Aggers is going to risk his own job by speaking in any way about Vaughan.

Silence doesn't mean condemnation.

This thing about ‘banter’ is a strange concept. Having been in various dressing rooms for various sports, I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s bullying. The strongest or the best at any particular sport tend to be the worst. They will target the weakest and take the piss for whatever reason.

The colour of someone’s skin is an easy target for the bully’s but there are many other reasons and I’ve witnessed most.
Personally, I’ve never felt comfortable in that sort of environment, not because I was targeted but I saw plenty that were. Again, for many reasons other that skin colour.

Cricket is the best sport in the world.
The problems highlighted on here could be applied to any sport. Looking at the England Cricket team over the last few years and even now, it’s the most diverse Cricket team in the world.

Cricket is a decent sport but the best? Nah.

No wonder the old colonies love it, they actually have the weather for it.

Kabaddi on the other hand is the greatest sport to ever grace television 😁

Sky must think it’s alright to call people fat/lanky/skinny/spotty/ginger/smelly/bald cunts
