  • They dont represent me or 90% of our support. They are the minority. Not us. They sit from afar casting judgment on our fan base, sat in silence offering nothing but condescending criticism

  • had a look it runs of Joomla - which is free to download it has a template theme - which you download and install, then configure the colours - they are free too so setting up the site

  • ok,breaking this down a bit, based on my experience   Running a transactional website with a database of around 6000 requires a professionally constructed and securely maintained website.

It doesn’t need a new one. We have one. They just need greater communication with the wider fan base. Some will argue “we’ll pay your money and then you can have your say”

my view is the trust themselves should be more proactive in reaching out to the wider fanbase.

as an example - I don’t think many if any current season ticket holders would have an issue if the club asked if they could share details (name / email address) with the trust in order to gain feedback / complete survey monkeys or whatever

when fans feel like they’re being asked and more importantly heard they would be more inclined to invest time and money in to the trust. Being asked to pay then you might get asked about some things is clearly putting people off

Im struggling with what folk actually want from the ST. Bigger representation? What will that matter in a mainly passive organisation?

Suppose that’s the million dollar question. But surely more than what is being done now. The perception of it overall isn’t very positive is it

the club clearly value it’s opinion and seem to have acted on a few of them - recent ground refresh being one and i do think it could be a very useful vehicle for more if it became more consultative with the wider fan base

It's good for the club to be seen having a direct line with the fans, and visa-versa. There is also a sense of kudos with the group.

In its present state the ST will not upset the apple cart with the club, and that probably won't change even if it has a larger membership or bank account.

I do not want anything from them, just a stop to claims that they are THE voice of the fans, they are not, they represent a segment of support and probably fit the segment Neil wants.

They are the voice of the fans who can be arsed doing something beyond moaning on internet forums.

If you had an ounce of sense you would realise what is wrong with your comment.

Covid.

@victor meldrewthe wandersways delegate to the supporters trust. Can a fancy name badge be knocked up?

Didn't we have members on here try to join the trusts board.  It was made impossible from memory.

If everyone moaning about the Supporters Trust because "they don't represent me" set up their own Supporters Group, they'd have far more members than the current Supporters Trust, and hold far more sway with the club. But they won't, because it's easier to moan than actually do anything.

Both your points assume those outside of the ST actually believes there is a need and a place for such an entity.

No they don't. Unless you're assuming that everyone who is unhappy with the Supporters Trust thinks it should be abolished?

Do something about it then. Have you aired these views to the Supporters Trust?

I don't care either way if they exist or not and if they do will leave them to it

I paid my £10 at the time as I hoped for them to be a pain in KAs arse and it was the least I could

But from what I recall, it's a closed shop and airing such views won't make an ounce of difference

It was hoped it would be a pain in the arse when that shit was here fucking us over but he just didn't acknowledge the ST.

I don't think it has fully recoved from that. The club has given it a degree of credibility now, but I'm not sure how many teeth it has.

Why do you bother even rising to the contrary cunt? If you were arguing for the ST, he'd be vehemently against it.

He doesn't assume anything. He's just looking for the right room for an argument.

They asked for help when they first started.

I know people who contacted them and didnt even get a reply.

They don’t represent me.

I offered to get involved and link the Trust to Bolton's largest bank of online fans (WWays if you hadn't worked it out) and they weren't interested in our "sort".

Given the comments on here, and the varying views at the time, you can understand them not bothering with your offer. Rightly or wrongly.

On this, I reckon cheese has a point.

No doubt it doesn't seem brilliantly run, but absolutely nothing stops interested parties paying their money, standing for election, and changing it from within. Can even change the rules and make admission free if desired.

Given its small membership size, with adequate support from likeminded fans, someone from here or elsewhere may well find it quite easy to get onto the board and make changes.

Ultimately though, you'll never please everyone all of the time, and even with the best of intentions, I reckon board members could readily get pissed off with it.

I joined initially, for obvious reasons, but once we'd got the buyer (Kunterson) it didn't seem as important, and frankly I couldn't be arsed.

On that basis, I won't knock anyone for at least trying, whether I agree with their policies, ideas, etc or not.

no chance

look how the election process is rigged structured

If, it is as bad as you say, then the club would distance themselves from it.

I have experience of being in a 'club' with improper governance, and some of its members took the board to court because of it, and won. Assets frozen etc.

Again, if its that bad then surely someone feels passionately enough to challenge the committee and put evidence before the club if necessary.

They only want the type of fan who attends games in pants, shirt and tie, shoes and jacket, not jeans, polo shirt and trainers.

not if they are a nodding dog

just look at how it works

the same faces are on the committee, off the committee then back on

its a revolving door

fwiw, if we are wrong, they could get their arses on here and explain why?

no reason why they should try to engage with wways, but an offer was informally made just weeks ago

i understand they claim to be trying to appeal to a wider group

im still waiting for even a go and get fucked

could a member tell me where the legends day funds ended up - take it theyve a few grand in the bank after that, or did it go the the BWFCCT
