  • They dont represent me or 90% of our support. They are the minority. Not us. They sit from afar casting judgment on our fan base, sat in silence offering nothing but condescending criticism

  • had a look it runs of Joomla - which is free to download it has a template theme - which you download and install, then configure the colours - they are free too so setting up the site

  • ok,breaking this down a bit, based on my experience   Running a transactional website with a database of around 6000 requires a professionally constructed and securely maintained website.

The Trust have fuck all to do with me.

When they were originally set up I saw why a group was needed but the people involved did not represent me.

Heard very little from them for ages and now they are asking people for money.  One of the Trust members sits on same row as me and is always friendly and did see her on Euro trips so not doubting they are fans.

i got one too this morning

it dose have a Address at the end of it

11 Vale st Turton

A quick search shows a planning application from Mr Mark Gregory regarding 11 Vale St.

£750,000 house.

They ain't getting a tenner of me. I don't really want anything to do with them.

Are their views good? No idea - I don't take any notice of their waffle.

I also have no idea what their ideas are, good, bad or indifferent. What I do know, and as BigE states, showing a slight interest in the very early days is one thing. Then not furthering my interest financially ought to have let them know the interest wasn’t sufficient for me to pay them a tenner each year since then. Why then, under GDPR rules, have they kept my contact details? Surely once I have lost interest and decided they don’t represent me, they ought not to be keeping my details for future mither.

A depressing read. I was once at the San Siro when Milan fans boycotted the first half in protest at some old bollocks which was not representative of the fan base. The next step was to boycott a whole match, then 3 matches etc.

The fans won in the end. Time for action?

I too paid a tenner at the start of the ST for all the right reasons etc.

Point is they managed to do jack shit as our club was sinking just a talking shop for attention seekers & cranks. The final straw for me was at one of their meetings (the only one I attended) they were blowing smoke up Dean Holdsworth’s arse like he had acted honourably (having pocketed at least a million quid )

Their naivety stunned me & I walked out .No doubt some well meaning people in there but the ‘elected’ representatives were delusional.

They don’t represent anybody but themselves.

a smart management team under Neil Hart”

What does this work even mean? Apart from the bumlicking, it’s basically a begging letter. Fuck off.

Didn't they try getting a share of the club on the cheap, too?
Set up by a bent accountant, the irony was strong when they were having a pop at the club's finances. (they were, of course, right to point out how dodgy Sweaty Ken was, but people in glass houses etc)

The supporters trust are just another one of those gossipy, nosey beaky Facebook groups that cover your parish.

They may present themselves as well meaning but from what I’ve seen they’re just inflated egos supposedly acting on my behalf.

Sorry lads, but not in my name.

Boooo

remember they had a Charity match they had

McGinley  Lot  V  Kelly lot + a night do

where did all that money go

If ten of us sponsored you, a pound each to pay your membership, would you attend?

I’m going to guess it’s less about the tenner and more about BWFCST being a self-promoting voice of the fans whose opinions nobody gives a fuck about.

If everyone moaning about the Supporters Trust because "they don't represent me" set up their own Supporters Group, they'd have far more members than the current Supporters Trust, and hold far more sway with the club. But they won't, because it's easier to moan than actually do anything.

Any group set up would not be acknowledged by the club. especially now the ST has been.

You can moan they don't represent us without think one is needed.

I don't see the benefit of any such group now. the worlds changed. supporters clubs used to be a link to players etc with meetings but with all the youtube stuff etc its just not needed.

Granted it’s a thankless job and not one many would take up of their own free will. However, the group is getting criticism as in many eyes it isn’t being steered in the right way.

what work have they done to seek feedback or ideas from fans who haven’t paid £10? What comms have gone out to season ticket holders on behalf of or from the supporters trust canvassing opinion on what the club should be looking to do or how the supporters trust can work better on behalf of ALL fans? Fuck all.

they’re working with a very small % of the fan base on the basis they’re stupid enough to give them money which is no longer used for the purpose it was set up for.

if the ST want to get an easier ride, greater buy in from the majority of the fan base and really get some traction when sitting at the table with the club stop acting in some kind of elitist manner and actually do some fucking work with the whole fanbase

they may actually find they get more people re signing that way instead of sending our begging emails

Do something about it then. Have you aired these views to the Supporters Trust?

He's got a point.

The thing is the ST were formed by well meaning folk in and around the darkest period the club has ever experienced. They have to tread a fine line were they have to keep on decent terms with the CEO and express fan concerns. The ST are not a Ultra set up, or even a trade union were they can be proactive and demand change. They are somewhat a toothless organisation were they get involved in painting the floodlights and fanzones. Having said that, apart from the membership scheme (where they should have expressed more opposition) and some regrettable statements from Hart, the club has done little wrong. If nothing else they have the ear of BWFC so that is something.

It doesn’t need a new one. We have one. They just need greater communication with the wider fan base. Some will argue “we’ll pay your money and then you can have your say”

my view is the trust themselves should be more proactive in reaching out to the wider fanbase.

as an example - I don’t think many if any current season ticket holders would have an issue if the club asked if they could share details (name / email address) with the trust in order to gain feedback / complete survey monkeys or whatever

when fans feel like they’re being asked and more importantly heard they would be more inclined to invest time and money in to the trust. Being asked to pay then you might get asked about some things is clearly putting people off

You can contact them for free via email, twitter, facebook etc. or through an online form on their website.
